Please stop misrepresenting the people who are questioning this purchase. They are very clearly discussing the transparency (or lack thereof) surrounding the acquisition - FUNDING - and not the boundaries. Just stop. |
For the person who keeps insisting this will be a magnet/TJ2 - if they don't decide to use it as a neighborhood HS, which they absolutely should, then I hope they turn it into a SPED center.
Have a great day! |
A few even seem to be from neighborhoods very close to the Langley / Herndon boundary line. Why are they so worked up? |
There's no misrepresentation on my part, only endless spinning on your end. To take just one example, one vocal Great Falls skeptic of the purchase posted recently: "[B]uying a new school seems likely to upend all the boundary scenarios that were previously shared. It’s frustrating that FCPS hasn’t been more transparent about this purchase or its potential impact on the boundary review." |
I supported their wanting to stay put--as I also wanted my neighborhood to stay put. But, THRU picked my neighborhood to split and move. But, when the nastiness started over the purchase of KAA, I changed my mind. Why could they not just be happy that a neighborhood was going to get relief at a bargain price for FCPS? But, they started attacking the purchase--and, I suspect, it is not about process or funding. The bond for purchase of land was passed many years ago. Why would people vote for that if they did not think it was for a school? They have repeatedly searched and could not find a site. We know that. There was a committee to do that. |
I think you are addressing this to me, and I’d be fine with it being a sped center or a PP mentioned arts magnet. That’s kind of a cool idea too. You ladies are all hyperventilating over me highlighting the fact that Frisch and Dunne raised the magnet prospect. You’re like little pre-schoolers who cover your ears and say la la la so you don’t hear contrary things. It’s very bizarre behavior for adults. Oh, also, just a heads up to the person who listened to the sb meeting and thinks that somehow offered proof that it’ll be a neighborhood school- the article came out subsequent to that vote. Anyway, have a great day too! |
Interesting post showing how incredibly petty you are. Not going to lie, I don’t think I would admit to what you just admitted to. Really showing your true colors. |
Everyone has an agenda, PP, and you know it. I imagine some of these people in Great Falls have a political agenda - maybe they want to run for school board or other political office? Or maybe they work for a politician and this is how they get their thrills. |
Imagine living your life this obsessed with great falls 😂😂😂 even when it has nothing to do with the discussion. |
Don’t mind her. She just thinks bringing up great falls is a political winner for her. She’s trying to misdirect from Frisch and Dunne saying they are considering a magnet school. Which they did in the wtop article, clear as day. |
DP. And yet it does, which is why you follow this thread like a hawk and other Great Falls posters poke and prod at all the details around the KAA purchase. |
Actually, I don't think it is Great Falls people. I think it is Herndon people who are in Langley boundary. At least, those are the most vocal on my Nextdoor feed. |
Don’t forget the at-large members too. They can probably be convinced not to follow Frisch and Dunne in their consideration of a magnet school. And, since you’re already reaching out to them, please don’t forget that the quicker they tell us the details about the purchase, why it was needed, where they’re getting the $150 million, what they intend to make the school, how many students, How they plan to incorporate the school into the boundary review, etc., the better off you’ll be! You’ll have less stress since you’ll know their true intentions for the school, and I can end my endless plugging of it potentially being a magnet. It’s really a win-win. (And thanks to those of you who already reached out, you definitely have made my job easier). 😉 |
There it is. That is the reason one person here is so worked up, replying to every little thing posted here. They want those seats filled from the KAA area and not from the Herndon, Forestville, GF addresses that are so close by. Panic has set in and they are flailing about grasping at straws. They thought they were safe but now the writing is on the walls. It will be nice to get the thread back once the plan is officially announced for the new Western HS, but this is enjoyable too. |
