If you live in western Fairfax and want KAA to become a traditional high school, don’t fight the crazy pro magnet woman. Instead, contact your school board member. I emailed mine and received a positive response.
There is that nervous vitriol again. Thanks for the heads up though. I’m going to contact my school board reps to tell them the opposite of what you said!
Please go ahead. I actually feel very optimistic after receiving the email from the school board member who didn’t even vote for the purchase (she abstained). I bet there are many more parents who want a traditional high school in western Fairfax than parents who want a magnet school.
+1 Would you mind posting the contact info for the SB reps, or is there a website that has their addresses? Thanks so much.
PP here - nvm, I found the website and sent my note.
Don’t forget the at-large members too. They can probably be convinced not to follow Frisch and Dunne in their consideration of a magnet school. And, since you’re already reaching out to them, please don’t forget that the quicker they tell us the details about the purchase, why it was needed, where they’re getting the $150 million, what they intend to make the school, how many students, How they plan to incorporate the school into the boundary review, etc., the better off you’ll be! You’ll have less stress since you’ll know their true intentions for the school, and I can end my endless plugging of it potentially being a magnet. It’s really a win-win. (And thanks to those of you who already reached out, you definitely have made my job easier). 😉
