Top 3 teams in the IAC are better than the Top 3 in the WCAC.

Whatever happened to the previous talk from a few weeks ago that the WCAC is a better lacrosse conference than the IAC.

1. Bullis
2. Landon
3. DeMatha
4. Georgetown Prep
5. Gonzaga

HM: (In order)
Good Counsel, SJC, Episcopal

Good Counsel is just not that good. They are hype. And the hype gets old when they lose to good teams by not close margins. I don’t see SJC losing to them.

WCAC will come down to DM, GZ, SJC in a dog fight. Will be fun. Those 3 teams are good lacrosse.

SJC is not fine. They are average this year. The Cadets lack the depth, offense is stagnant and FOGO is subpar. Not to mention, SJC's biggest outside recruiter of prospective families, Ince, departed ways with the program last summer.

Gonzaga is on the upswing.

Upswing? Gonzaga? Please. The only legit upswing conversations about WCAC this season have to be about DM, GC, SMR and maybe Heights once they start playing legitimate teams. The WCAC is deeper than it’s been in years. Playoffs are wide open. No elite team

Parity across WCAC for sure. How the hell else did SMR beat Dematha who just beat SJC?

SMR defense and goalie are (perhaps surprising to some) very good. So if they win faceoffs they can be a tough win. If they lose faceoffs they don’t typically have the firepower to stay in it against good competition and the defense eventually gets tired. But the best team they’ve had in a long time.

All the talk that Bullis and Landon are running from Military Road seemed to have vanished in the past few weeks. Answer the phone Wes.....

So SMR squeaked past DM b/c I'm assuming they won the FO battle, then DM did the same thing to SJC? Not trolling, honest question, haven't seen any of these three play in person.

You just never know how FOGOs are going to match up. SJC FOGO could own the SMR FOGO, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Anonymous wrote:Good Morning,

Hope your sorry 9 to 5’s are treating you well today. Once again SJC is living in your heads rent free. They will finish at the top of the WCAC, once the injured return.

I have to add this. The Goalie play- the SJC Goalie is the best in the DMV. Anything low of the Gonzaga goalie will go, and anything offside hip on the DM goalie WILL GO. Can’t wait to return to this post.

Now get back to work.

they're not so much living in our heads rent-free, it's more like they've checked into our rehab center and we're helping them work through some issues and reflect

I think of SJC as an old man yelling at kids to get off of his lawn and pining for the "good ole days."

These posts are called deflection. Some really good points being brought up, but insults being cast instead of a alternatives or rebuttals.
Sorry, pops. Getting off your lawn now...

If you have strong goalie play, and a very strong fogo, you have a chance to win every game you play. The fogo has really changed the sport of lacrosse .

Look at Landon 2017, SJC 2023 - these teams had elite fogos and very good keepers between the pipes.

This year. GZ in my eyes has the best fogo in the area and a good goalie (not elite). The eagles will be a very tough out for any team in the WCAC as a result of this.

St. John's kids on Spring Break this week or something? Although, the lack of spelling errors and tortured grammar would belie that assumption.

Hard to really be on the upswing when you're the defending champions. Gonzaga remains top level. Rest of conference is still looking up at them until proven otherwise.

This sounds a lot like a moral victory statement considering they've already lost to Bullis and GP. 5 of the next 6 will test the Eagles.

Have we gotten an update on the St Albans music program yet this season and whether the brass section was able to out recruit lacrosse.
