7-4 prep

8-4 prep

9-5 GP wins.
GC has 16 players. GP has 22. GP just had more guys who could play.

GC has more than 16 players. They also have a coach who believes a gassed 1 is better than a fresh 2.

Good Counsel put up a good fight last night - the program is heading in the right direction.

Prep on the other hand, after really struggling in mid March, appears to have found their stride with some new adjustments on the offensive side of the field.

The IAC race is starting to get a lot more interesting. Still believe Landon and Bullis are the frontrunners in the IAC but I wouldn't sleep on Prep after watching them play last night.

Good Morning,

Hope your sorry 9 to 5’s are treating you well today. Once again SJC is living in your heads rent free. They will finish at the top of the WCAC, once the injured return.

I have to add this. The Goalie play- the SJC Goalie is the best in the DMV. Anything low of the Gonzaga goalie will go, and anything offside hip on the DM goalie WILL GO. Can’t wait to return to this post.

Now get back to work.

they're not so much living in our heads rent-free, it's more like they've checked into our rehab center and we're helping them work through some issues and reflect

I think of SJC as an old man yelling at kids to get off of his lawn and pining for the "good ole days."

These posts are called deflection. Some really good points being brought up, but insults being cast instead of a alternatives or rebuttals.

Smith has never coached a team with depth so he doesn't know how to. He barely had 10 players at STA but was lucky enough to have Chase Noah and a very weak schedule. It would take a real hard look at himself to trust a 2nd line to play every 3rd shift and play 4 attacks and poles.

Yup. sjc proved this on Tuesday with that awesome win.

Anonymous wrote:The little attack is terrible. Misses the cage or turns it over more than anyone I've seen. Watched SJC twice now, and he was bad both times. SJC goalie is fantastic, and the Fogo is only a sophomore I'm told. 5-5 means a good opportunity to mix things up some and see what happens.

The attack was decent, but he just played against a defense with three good seniors. SJC goalie benefits from a crazy hype machine. He is solid but not "fantastic." He makes saves that he should but doesn't steal many. He has big (tastey) shoes to fill and he is just not going to be at that level. It's like Trent Dilfer replacing Brett Favre. You have someone who won't lose the game for you stepping in to replace the guy whowon the games for you. The top two goalies are GZ and DM, both make some ridiculous saves, but the hype machine likely won't see it that way on awards night. The FOGO is just not getting it done. The talent across the rest of the roster is held back by a lack of a decent FOGO.

SJC is averaging 9.5 and giving up 9 taking out the O'Connell game.
Bullis is averaging 11.5 and giving up 7.5.
SJC's problems are a little bit of fogo, wings and poles aren't picking up gb's, attack is not very dynamic, star middie has missed time. This roster should be better than .500.

You are trolling this goalie and always have been. Why? Awards night? You mean 1st Team All Conference that he won last year as a Sophmore? Lots of people sure see this kid differently than you do. That kid has been stealing shots his entire time in cage.

All these coaches feel the same way except those that go to second line which are far and few. Landon and GZ do it and at times Bullis but far less then the other two and that is why they are at the top. I would agree a me me me first line plus being tired is not going to do better then a warmed up 2nd line if they are not a big drop off. Landon, GZ and Bullis have 5/6 very good options at middies to beat most teams with fresh legs.

SJC is not fine. They are average this year. The Cadets lack the depth, offense is stagnant and FOGO is subpar. Not to mention, SJC's biggest outside recruiter of prospective families, Ince, departed ways with the program last summer.

Gonzaga is on the upswing.

Upswing? Gonzaga? Please. The only legit upswing conversations about WCAC this season have to be about DM, GC, SMR and maybe Heights once they start playing legitimate teams. The WCAC is deeper than it’s been in years. Playoffs are wide open. No elite team

Never believed Prep was as bad as their record indicated.

Was likely mental issues or lack of cohesion, which seem to have resolved.

IAC is a three horse race, IMO.
