Now this is a response I can live with. I might not feel that her specific advocacy presents the level of concern that others might feel, but I would not begrudge them that concern for themselves, nor the evaluation of what that might mean regarding candidate preference as stated above. Thank you. |
Can people registered as an Independent vote in the BOE elections tomorrow? |
Yes. You can vote for the BoE and the circuit court judges. |
BOE is nonpartisan |
I'm an independent and my ballot had just the three BOE races, not the judges. |
I’m not voting for any marijuana advocate. |
Good enough, as with the PP whom I thanked, above. As long as we aren't misrepresenting the nature of that advocacy. |
Election worker here. That's correct. Only BOE on your ballot. |
Nothing is being misrepresented and we can interpret it the way we see it. You want us to be naive. |
I drink red wine to help my heart. lol! |
I want us to be well informed, and not with half-truths or misrepresentations. That's the opposite of naive. I have no issue with your (or anyone else's) deciding that a candidate's acknowledged job as an advocate for safety of the medical marijuana supply chain disqualifies her from your or their own consideration. I do have an issue with you (or anyone else) posting in a way to misrepresent that occupation as being a pusher or an advocate for drugs in schools. |
You made that up. Bold where anyone but you said that. |
Not the circuit court judges - it is a quirk in state law that you have to be a registered Democrat or Republican to vote for primary day voting in the judges' race, even though the judges' race is non-partisan. Independents can vote for BOE only. |
The real problem with Montoya is that the only experience she has to recommend herself as a BOE candidate is that she has been PTA president for NCC ES for a few months. That's not good enough. |
Can independents change affiliation at voting site before voting tomorrow? |
