The Montoya-as-legal-advocate-for-supply-chain-safety-of-medical-marijuana = dope-dealer-who-wants-pot-in-our-schools trope is really over the top. You're as bad as the one here who screams that right-wingers are so subhuman as to have no business even considering a run.

The real problem with Montoya is that the only experience she has to recommend herself as a BOE candidate is that she has been PTA president for NCC ES for a few months. That's not good enough.

But she is an advocate for marijuana.

Lack of experience, ok. But give some credit to the candidates willing to run. We have very limited choices in this election. You should run if you think someone is not good enough. Btw, not planning to vote her, but be realistic about the options, PP.

Yes. You can vote for the BoE and the circuit court judges.

Not the circuit court judges - it is a quirk in state law that you have to be a registered Democrat or Republican to vote for primary day voting in the judges' race, even though the judges' race is non-partisan. Independents can vote for BOE only.

Can independents change affiliation at voting site before voting tomorrow?

No, the last day you could change affiliation was April 23.

Yes, she is. And good for her on that. Because that is outside the universe of K-12 public education oversight, it is another reason why she is not a good choice for the board of education

On the contrary she's an excellent choice for school board. This seems irrelevant since lobbying for a legitimate business interest isn't disqualifying.

Kim has education experience. Harris has education experience. There you go, two choices with education experience. Maybe you don't personally think those are good choices, but they have experience that can inform their leadership on the BOE that is specific to the job.

She isn't a good choice because she has almost no experience with education. A few months as her ES PTA president doesn't qualify her for the school board.

It is disqualifying to a lot of people who know drugs are not a good thing.
Legitimate business, my ass.

DP. I voted for Montoya.

You must’ve smoked a joint prior to that.

Nope.

New blood time.

We still don't know what actually happened do we in the scandal and McKnight's departure? If BOE members were involved in any way, even if not up for election this year, voters need to know how mbers of BOE were involved in scandal or what happened after news was reported.

Kim had my vote. I know her from our school. She is bright and works hard.

It is possible to smoke or do an occasional edible as an adult and not want weed or other drugs in schools. Certainly the case for us and among our parent friends. It is legal for adults, just like drinking. i'm sipping a glass of wine right now....don't want my underage kids to drink yet.

Something is profoundly wrong with you.

I mean I get you’re trying to cut down PP but it’s falling flat. Their take is extremely reasonable. Is the only rebuttal you can come up with an insult?
