Does every kids event have to involve food?

That's a good way of putting it. (Adult with anaphylactic food allergy here who's very over the allergy drama in US culture)

We don't keep junk food in our house so when it is available at parties or (ugh) sporting events it is an unusual snack for my kids. often, though, they say no thank you. They know I will alwys have hummus/ veggies/ clementines waiting for them. They especially love those little apples.
