Get over yourself PP. 2-0 is NOT a spanking and is merely just a game with 12 year old girls. I bet your DD was treated to her favorite dinner after the game and was even able to have dessert and, of course, reminded of great she is and they’re gonna win a trophy. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 |
Karma is tough, isn’t it? How many times did this team tweet about 10-0 victories at U9 and U10, identifying opponents and score lines in violation of CCL policy? Missing a player, missing a coach, covid hangover - we have heard it all from this team’s parents but the fact of the matter is other kids and teams have developed faster and better. |
| Arlington team is a GA team not an ECNL team ( yet). |
That team lacks talent. Fortunately for next year, better girls will join that team because of the move to ECNL. More than half the current team will be gone, and the remaining team much stronger. |
Not the PP. The question is not where Arlington GA 08 will play but where the current players on Arlington GA 08 will play. If as you say there is only one key player for Arlington why do you think your DD will not be replaced with all the new talent coming in? Your kid’s spot is not guaranteed and ECNL teams get better by replacing starters. I never understand parents like you. It is a zero sum game and here you are getting excited about all the new talent coming in? How many of the SYC girls would start at Arlington? Where do you think they would like to play next year...CCL or ECNL? |
Youthsoccerranking has Arlington as a top 5 team in the state I think they can manage one random lost the 2008 team is doing just fine in the GA league and next year will do fine in ECNL have fun beating SYA and Soca in CCL |
I think the point you are making here is only partly true. Yes - there will be more competition for spots. And the very best kids will get to play where they want - which will displace weaker kids from the rosters of those teams. BUT - kids who are not significantly more talented than the ones they hope to replace don't get to replace those kids. On most teams there are only a handful of kids who are good enough to displace others, and another handful who are clearly weak enough that their spots are in danger. The majority of the kids on good teams are of pretty similar ability. And those kids will neither be displaced from their current team, nor good enough to displace another kid from a different team. |
This is exactly why your kid won’t get better. They already think they are good enough. That is why others are already passing her by. |
| It is a pandemic year. There was no much player/caching staff rotation. Wins/Losses don’t count. We should be more than happy by the fact that our children are able to play and that the tournament was not cancelled. |

| SYC girls beat McLean top team this morning 3-1. SYC achieving results across ages. I think the ecnl picked the wrong club on both boys and girls side. |
It's been two years lol |
So the results don’t matter when you are losing. I got it. The bigger problem at Arlington at younger ages is that results are apparently all that matters. The bigger lesson is not that results should not matter in a pandemic. It is that results are a poor way to judge progress at U9-12 and a poor focus for selecting and developing teams. But I am sure that lesson will never take over there. |
+1. We’re not playing this weekend so I have no skin in this game, but some people on this forum have really lost sight of what matters (to the extent they ever had it). |

It's soccer. Any given day.
Heck, Loudoun 09 Pre-ECNL just tied Richmond Strikers "B" team. It's why we play sports. |
