Food poisoning horror stories - share yours?

Ten days later, it's the first day of my new job and they took me to lunch at the exact same restaurant where DH and I got food poisoning! I think I ordered a side salad but just picked at it. I couldn't bring myself to eat anything from that place. I'm pretty sure DH and I never went back there.


I've got sick from salads before when I've been trying to be good. Fries are safer.

DH and I got sick on a trip to Puerto Rico with our then-toddler. We were not in San Juan - we were in a remote area (El Con resort) where the suites were only accessible via funicular that shut down nightly after 11 p.m. So when we both awoke with wild diarrhea at 2 a.m...we were out of luck completely until we could get to the main hotel, which had a tiny convenience store offering off-brand Tums. We were both sick both ways, one tiny bathroom, for three days while our toddler begged to go to the pool. (He was fine; had tenders for dinner while we had shrimp.)
