Voted Lazere and Henderson. Decent enough.

It's like he knows nothing about DC and wants to lose. Doesn't this cretin realize that elderly black women are DC's biggest voting bloc?

That wasn’t Lazare, it was the Sunrise Movement.

Yeah, Lazere doesn't direct the Sunrise Movement. I think they are youth only and he's not in that age group.

He explicitly approved of the protest and refused to denounce them for vandalizing an elderly Black woman's property. Classy.

He'll also have to work with Bonds if he wins. She has a long memory.

Think legalized prostitution and defunding of police will occur in Georgetown? Let Iowa Ed continue to theorize and lobby council.

I'm a black woman who's known Ed since 1991. What an incredibly ignorant thing to say. I am all pro black and everything, but honestly, I'm not going to choose a candidate just because they are black. I like Henderson and Lazere, based on their platforms and intelligence.

You need to read Locking Up our Own by James Forman. Its about how black judges, mayors and police chiefs all had a major hand in DC's mass incarceration and culture. It ain't pretty. Read that and then come back to me.

why do we need another progressive white guy? isn’t Markus Batchelor progressive?

I like Chander for my first vote. Middle and pro small/local business. Who else is not far left? There are 2 seats up.

Marcus Goodwin is also not far left.

I want to vote for people who have the ability and energy to address DC’s self-evident issues. Who is that?

Best candidates for a moderate who wants to keep the city livable for actual middle income families? I don't hear anyone saying better public schools, lower crime, and it's awful that it stinks like pot all over the city. Have sacrificed a lot to raise my family in very modest circumstances in DC and am deeply disenchanted with Progressives lumping us in with the privileged.

I'd hope he does, since he's been married to a black woman for decades.

No one pays Bond any attention. She needs to go!

You don't have to support Lazere, but the PP's comments were really ignorant. I just think he's really smart and committed.

Sure wish Lazere protested the anti-Semite dimwit in Ward 8 as much as the Black woman who marched for civil rights. It's an awful look for him.

This is the most mind-boggling thing about the election this year. Trayon White is an avowed bigot and NO ONE CARES. He's going to skate to reelection. It's just such a sad commentary on DC that he's allowed to be a public servant. Why aren't people protesting in front of this hate-monger's house?

Bari Weiss's answer is that we liberal American Jews need to understand that followers of "the successor ideology" just aren't that into us. That's why no one cares. Also, I'm in the mood for rain tomorrow.

Bari Weiss is not a liberal. She is cancel culture personified for trying to get professors fires. What a joke.
