I like Chander for my first vote. Middle and pro small/local business. Who else is not far left? There are 2 seats up. |

I like anyone but Lazere. We have perfectly decent black candidates running. I don’t want to elect a white man to tell me what it’s like to be black in DC.
Think legalized prostitution and defunding of police will occur in Georgetown? Let Iowa Ed continue to theorize and lobby council. |
I'm a black woman who's known Ed since 1991. What an incredibly ignorant thing to say. I am all pro black and everything, but honestly, I'm not going to choose a candidate just because they are black. I like Henderson and Lazere, based on their platforms and intelligence. You need to read Locking Up our Own by James Forman. Its about how black judges, mayors and police chiefs all had a major hand in DC's mass incarceration and culture. It ain't pretty. Read that and then come back to me. |

voting against any incumbents. They are worthless. Never once have they responded to any emails and concerns I sent since they were in office. We need fresh blood.
Also supporting any candidate that will try to even out the the whole landlord tenant laws that are unfairly skewed toward tenants. All candidates will preach about how we need more affordable housing, but continue to make it impossible for small (and large) landlords to survive. We got burned with a dishonest tenant who stopped paying rents and would only pay up once we sued him. We eventually got rid of him and lost $30,000 in the process. When we cleaned up the trashed unit, we found bank receipts where he pulled out 6 times what his rent was in cash from the bank. He had the money, just did not want to spend it on rent. Way to risky in DC to be a landlord, especially when dealing with low income tenants. You need to be rich and have 1 or two years of rent in cash in the bank if you want to take the risk. For now, our basement is vacant and will stay that way and I laugh at the hypocrisy of the Mayor and Council members when they talk about the lack of affordable housing. It is a problem that they have created. |

Robert White is the best candidate. If I could vote for him twice, I would. His track record is top-notch. He's a Native Washingtonian who really knows his constituency. He's a strong advocate and a brilliant mind. |
|
Robert White is a sheep in sheep's clothing.
Nice smile, pretty face, says all the right things, nothing behind the edifice. |
|
I don't care for Lazere either but I would support legalize brothels based on the Amsterdam model. |
|
Lazere encouraged his supporters to protest a 75-year-old council member's house at midnight, a black female council member's house, no less (it was Anita Bonds's house). After they vandalized her property, Lazere refused to condemn them.
It's like he knows nothing about DC and wants to lose. Doesn't this cretin realize that elderly black women are DC's biggest voting bloc? |
| Who are the two least liberal candidates? I really want more balance on the council. |
That wasn’t Lazare, it was the Sunrise Movement. |
| I will only vote for women. I like Christina Henderson for first slot. For whom should I vote for the second slot? |
Jeanne Lewis seems interesting. If I was limiting myself to voting for women is check her out. |
Yeah, Lazere doesn't direct the Sunrise Movement. I think they are youth only and he's not in that age group. |
Chander is quite moderate and(still) has heart. |
