They concentrate in few areas, genius. Sharks are not OMNIPRESENT like you like wish to believe they are.

It’s so funny when someone posts something that can be readily confirmed or refuted in moments and also insults those who might not agree with their readily confirmable/disprovable notion. You are not very wise. In the last week, there have been 18 great white sharks spotted in areas ranging from the Elizabeth Islands, Monomoy, Chatham, Nauset, the Atlantic side near Ptown, Wellfleet, Dennis and Plymouth. That is almost the entire span of the Cape from west to east and south to north.

Perhaps you do not know what the word OMNIPRESENT means? If you are on Cape Cod you are surrounded by about 1000 great whites of varying sizes, sexes and ages. Those animals compete for food with one another and therefor do NOT all sit in the same places. The big girls have command of the best hunting grounds and territorial “claims” proceed down from there.

Give it up, OP. Sad, sad, OP.

All major local and national news outlets have specifically warned tourists about great whites in Cape Cod *this week.* Cape Cod news, Boston Globe, NYT, etc. It’s a big deal right now—today.

Your link from 2014 below isn’t compelling, Shark-Denier Suzy.

The articles are from regarding NC, SC and FL are from FEBRUARY 2020 - read much?

My family is at the Cape at this moment, as they have been from before you were born (especially since you act like you are no more than 12 years old) and there are no shark warnings.

Grow up.

DENNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Swimmers were directed to get out of the waters on Thursday afternoon, after a great white shark was spotted eating seals off the coast of the Cape.

According to WBZ-TV, at 2:45 p.m. a lifeguard spotted a juvenile great white shark trying to attack the two seals some 400 feet off the shore of Chapin Memorial Beach.

Thursday. A great white was spotted this Thursday and they pulled everyone out of the water.

Google pulls up stark warnings for the Cape this week (the entire first page of the search is exclusively warnings issued this week).

How can you deny the issue? Quite befuddling.

And I thought climate change deniers were the worst...until I came across Shark-Denier Suzy! Or is this Crazy Cape Cod Lady, the covert land-shark lobbyist?

People who like the cape aren't denying the sharks. Some of us are saying it doesn't impact us because we prefer the ponds anyway and also go for long bike rides. How is this hard to understand?

You’ve stumbled into a debate with a cape cod lady who called the entire state of NC a cesspool in another thread. She cheerleads for the Cape while simultaneously criticizing anyone who enjoys NC beaches (the way many dcumers hurl criticism at anyone who enjoys Disney). It’s unnecessary and obnoxious, but she’s taken it to a new level by denying the very real shark issue.

Me? I don’t really have a dog in this fight. I prefer the Caribbean (and private beaches specifically). If I’m limited to local, I’ll hit DE or even (gasp!) MD. I’ve been to beaches all up and down the East and west coasts and along the southern gulf; they’re fine. I just can’t understand how anyone can debate the shark issue along the cape? I mean, it’s a fact not an opinion.

Lastly, Jim Gaffigan did a segment that starts with, “So I was vacationing on the Cape because I’m white.” The segment deals with how lobsters are sea insects; it’s funny. But his opening is pretty spot on about the lack of diversity. In this day and age, I’m kinda shocked that people lack that awareness and are proud of it.

Don't bother. Those of us who like the Cape are not like OP, thankfully. Does OP seem happy to you?

Do happy, mature, well adjusted people start threads like this one, and go on and on, as if their life depended on it? C'mon.

OP is a poor troll, and I am shocked that this tread has not been not locked or deleted.

Absurd.

Not a fact presented by you in retort. I am not the OP. And there are great whites, among other sharks, all over the Cape (although the fish easting species are probably in decline because the seals are taking so many fish.)

Enjoy the Cape with its sharks and it’s ok set up. I will make sure I pass through quickly when I do come by land on my way to a much nicer place: ACK! And since you are a jerk and pick in the Outer Banks, have some back in the same regard. On its best day CC is half of Nantucket. Even the Gulf Stream, which bathes us in better weather and water takes a turn and flees your parts. 26 miles makes all the difference in the world!

So you are the Crazy Cape Cod Lady! I could tell by your almost child-like belief that only a few people are having a debate.

Just to clarify: I’m not the OP. There are many thousands of people posting on dcum, and likely upwards of 2 dozen posting in this thread alone.

I for one don’t hate on the Cape. It’s lovely. Truly.

I just want you to acknowledge the current shark numbers and concerns instead of pretending it’s not an issue.

...along with the poverty.

Did you know CC is currently underway with its annual campaign for The Needy Fund? They have upwards of 4K requests each year, and they’re expecting many more this year. They strategically launch it during the summer season so outsiders/tourists can lend financial support to the locals who struggle. It’s nice, and it’s desperately needed. (But the Crazy Cape Cod Lady doesn’t believe poverty exists on the Cape along with addiction. Her beloved Cape is some sort of magical land where unicorns prance on rainbows and sharks chomp on unwashed mouth breathers only in the OBX.

Not sure what your problem is OP, except that you are psycho - but yes, poverty and drugs exist everywhere.

People can come from bad upbringings - sometimes it drives them to drugs, sometimes it drives them to try to disparage places they have never been, or people they have never met - on an anonymous board on the internet. Sometimes people think it is all about them, so they have to go on and on about something they know little if anything about. Sad, huh?

What else do you label OP? What else do you hate? Look in the mirror and tell us how much you hate yourself, honestly.

OP, ask yourself why you are so offended that someone comes from a place so different than you.

I would normally leave threads like this well enough alone since I am not a beach person, have never been to Cape Cod, and really don't care about the shark population. But, since you have taken to repeatedly reporting posts from this thread, while also repeatedly calling other posters "trolls", I am going to weigh in. Let's look at the original post of this thread:

Based on my one trip there, I will say, that I found Cape Cod to be:

Way too expensive. (10K for a small house in Chatham)
Beautiful.
Water too cold to swim in.
Snooty. My snootiest Aunt goes every year. Preppy heaven.
Too far from DC for me to visit regularly.

What do you think about Cape Cod?

What about this post has infuriated you so much that you have repeatedly asked for the thread to be removed? Is Cape Cod expensive? That is a subjective issue, but if OP thinks it is, what does it matter to you? Is it beautiful? I assume that you agree that it is. Is the water cold? That is also a matter of opinion and may actually be considered a benefit by some people. Is OP's Aunt snooty? Perhaps, but I agree that OP is wrong to stereotype the entire population based on a single person. Too far from DC? Another subjective factor but it does seem pretty far to me. So, this comes down to one item which which you likely you agree, three subjective matters of opinion, and one unfair generalization. If this is a troll post, it is one of the laziest efforts I've ever encountered.

Rather than taking screenshots (for what purpose I haven't a clue), claiming that you are being defamed (despite that nobody knows who you are), and obviously getting your blood pressure raised to unsafe levels, maybe you should just ignore this thread? Trust me, Cape Cod will survive a few DCUMers' concerns about the water temperature and number of sharks. Your defense is not required.
