Obesity is a medical diagnosis. Cured is therefore the appropriate word. |
OP, Great job! I saw my girlfriends son hit close to 350-400 pounds when he was 18 years old. She is a head dietitian at a major teaching hospital and her husband is a high school foot ball coach and physical education teacher. OP, you are doing a lot of things right! |
|
There is another thread going now where some moms seem in denial about the validity of BMI.
I think YOU are in denial. |
OP noted that thread too. So you're attacking OP for working to improve her DD's health and to help her have a normal weight. Sure, that makes sense. |
Nothing wrong with 90 minutes of exercise. Children are supposed to be running around and playing. Sitting for hours on screens leads to obesity. |
So your kids are all still young. You are patting yourself on the back because you avoided puffs when they were babies. That’s adorable. But you will realize some day how stupid that was. Until then, go ahead and feel superior while the rest of us mock you. (I said nothing about my teen vaping. But if you don’t know how prevalent teen vaping is you are even more clueless than you originally sounded.) |
| A healthy diet eaten in moderation and daily exercise cures obesity. Who knew? lol |
Some people in this thread think this is a disordered approach. |
No they don’t. They think someone acting like this is a revelation (and dropping other flags all over the field) clearly is struggling to overcome disordered thinking. |
THIS. |
Not this. They're attacking the OP for doing the right thing. |
Of course there is nothing wrong with 90 minutes of exercise. it's the required tone that is the issue. I'm guessing she's counting down those 90 minutes with a shot clock. From the wording of her social media post, her DC will have an eating disorder before she goes to college. We all want our children to be healthy that's not the question. |
Uh, her kid was already obese. Something needed to be done. |
YOU are projecting your own obsession onto the OP. |
|
Is there only one pp who is going bat s*it crazy that OP didn't leave her obese dd to her own means(which the child does not have) and actually blames op for getting her dd's obesity under control?! I mean, I've seen a lot of crazy on dcum, but this takes the cake.
Plus OP honestly admitted she had some wrong ideas about food and she worked on herself as well to fix it. Isn't that how most people that are overweight or overly thin get there? And their kids in tow? |
