Would you mind if your 15 year old drank?

This is difficult for me to answer. I was a regular drinker at 15, along with the vast majority of my classmates, back in the rip roarin’ 80s.

I would never greenlight underage drinking in my own kids, but I’m realistic and know chances are excellent that they will have the opportunity to drink at some point in high school. I would MUCH rather they call me to pick them up vs ride in a car with a drunk driver or, god forbid, drive themselves while drunk. If they knew that I would punish them severely for being in that situation, chances are good that they would not call me.

So- no to drinking. But call me if you ever need a ride for safety reasons, and I won’t make you regret calling.
