A lot of people on this thread have named the highly selective candidates like Princeton. But there are a number of schools that are not as selective but have lovely, notable campuses like Elon, Furman, Salve Regina, Flagler, and Berry. |
| +1 especially with regards to Salve Regina. No, I don’t think my kids will be going there but it is the most gorgeous campus in US, hands down. |
And a number of the most famous schools aren't heading in the right direction from a beauty because they have done so much construction. Stanford comes to mind. |
Breathtaking. No connection there. |
That’s a great list. I’d add USNA. |
| In my view, few campuses are as profoundly impressive as UVA’s and William & Mary’s. |
You have a very limited view. Have you ever ventured outside of Virginia? |
NP. I've lived all over the country, and have only been in VA for a few years, and find UVA and William and Mary to be absolutely gorgeous. And impressive. Why are you (and many others here) so threatened by the fact that people *gasp* like the public universities in Virginia? What's up with that? |
No, it’s not. It looks like an upscale residential neighborhood, with one giant mansion at its center. Little about it suggests it’s an institution of higher learning. |
I literally couldn’t care less about Virginia public universities but I find it odd that somebody can’t appreciate the beauty of campuses outside of the colonial architecture spectrum.....seems limited. |
| Wesleyan |
| There are very few references of colleges outside of the Northeast on this thread. A lot of those more traditional colleges are nice in summer, but can be muddy and gray in winter. A campus like UCLA is nice all year round. |
Gosh, I guess you are more intelligent than Forbes. https://www.forbes.com/pictures/ekkf45i/university-of-virginia-charlottesville-va/#11cdfd24197c |
Yes, on the water, history, tradition, and Annapolis is so nice. Also love West Point. Have never visited Air Force Academy. List above is good. |
Intelligent? You’re an idiot. |
