MU 05 DAD RIGHT BACK AT IT.

At least fcv YouTube dad is with a team that wins. Same with pipeline dad. Spirit/mu dad is the worst.

Sorry but MU DA and Arlington DA are not top 5. Maryland ECNL is struggling. You folks need to look beyond DA/ECNL.

FCV, McLean and Bethesda are the only teams that I would consider worthy of top 5 status. VDA should get some consideration as should. Sadly, I think if Baltimore teams are not eligible, you don't don't have more than four teams worthy of elite status.

For Virginia, McLean FCV and VDA are the top teams in this age group. After these three, there is a big drop off.

Hard to support that considering one of your 'Top' teams lost to the Spirit VA. And even if the win was a fluke, is there really a 'big' drop off? Seems to lose by a single goal means the Spirit kept the game close the entire game, so not so much difference.

FCV, Arlington, MU / VDA IMO. McLean would be another step down. I'm leaving out the Balitmore teams to keep Pipeline dad on the bench.

This is Pipeline guy (I don't have a connection to the club). BTW, There is no team in the area that can field an elite A team (DA/ECNL) and still have an elite B team at almost every age group. Pipeline's B team can beat and has beaten every top team in the DMV.

Leaving Pipeline out of this and focusing on VA, FCV is clearly the best team. McLean is a clear second. I would add that one game does not reflect an entire season. For example, McLean lost to the PA State Cup Champ in the Bethesda Tournament 0-4 but then beat the same team at Jefferson Cup 2-0. McLean has beaten enough quality non-ECNL teams to show that it is one of the better teams in the region.

VDA and Arlington are good but have not dominated as FCV and McLean have done. If Mclean tanks in San Diego then we can have another discussion but until then, the team is the 2nd most competitive team outside of FCV. I think Bethesda on the MD will compete at a high level once it brings together the best or MRM Rush with the best of Bethesda.

I only referred to Virginia teams. Pipeline is certainly in the conversation when you look at the entire DMV area. I agree that McLean and FCV are ahead of VDA, but VDA is the closest to them among the rest of the teams. Arlington and Spirit are further down, based on MULTIPLE games they play. The PP, who boasted about 1-0 win by the Spirit over VDA, does not understand that you have to evaluate the entire body of work. Rubin Kazan beat Barcelona in the Champions league several years ago, but it is silly to suggest that there was no talent and quality gap between those teams.

You were supposed to stay on the bench! Pipeline has not beaten every team in the DMV. Every team this year is new, so claiming a win from older non DA or ECNL teams is foolish. And MU would beat VDA today if they played. Same as Arlington. Arlington would beat McLean or VDA.

Maybe I should clarify by saying "teams of significance." Pipeline beat FCV in last year's regionals (team was composed of current FCV DA players and others). Pipeline beat Mclean and has beaten MRM Ruch (the new Bethesda ECNL) on multiple occasions.

MU and Arlington will have to do a better job in order to be considered elite. They just don't deserve a top 5 ranking.

Here are the facts. The ODFC team that was beaten 1-0 in the 2018 east regional semis had 5 FCV 05 pre-DA girls on the team (all of whom ended up on the FCV 05 da team). Only 3 of those 5 girls started in that game. From that ODFC team, since then the other players that were not pre-DA ended up as follows: 5 to FCV 06 DA; 2 offered FCV 05 DA but turned them down and went to McLean 05 ECNL; 1 to 05 WSVA/MU; 2 to Loudoun 05 ECNL; and 2 offered 06 FCV da but turned them down and went to Loudoun 06 ECNL. So a darn good team that Pipeline beat. Also, last season the WSMD team that had 7 Pipeline players playing for them beat FCV DA. When those Pipeline girls did not play for WSMD they lost to not only FCV da but wsva da too. So those girls made a huge difference. Anyhow, Pipeline is a darn good team that pretty much has had FCV’s number recently.

But they are from Baltimore, and so for the dc metro area FCV is the best team for 05s. They are the best not due to coaching, but due to the top 5 or 6 players they have, several of which came form out of state or from Loudoun and were not coached by the FCV staff until this season. FCVs coaching is overrated, but their recruiting and DA brand is very strong. At least it had been for 06s and older until this year when they let some good talent slip thru their fingers due to poor communications and integrity by the coaching staff.

This isn't true. You can go look at the rosters for the games and in the 3 times they played, there was only a player or two difference. FCV played a bad game the first game and lost 1-0. The other two games reflect reality.

Only 1, 1 was an 06 and offered for 06. But both went to McLean.

Not PP, but probably delayed offering position or playing with DA during the season.

The two families also lived a much closer to McLean than FCV.

These families made a sensible choice: shorter commute to practices, a high level team that improved a lot last season (currently ranked No.1 in Virginia by got soccer) and they are coached by Clyde Watson, who is one of the best coaches in the DMV area.

I'm confused. Is the 06 from FCV also playing 05 McLean ECNL next year?
