Fixed it for ya. |
| Anyone that thinks the ED is a qualified leader and has not mismanaged the club is out of touch with reality. She lacks the necessary leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and grow the club. It is sad that those who could effective change have not come to this realization after so many years in position. |
But they only hired 1 person who had been fired from SYC. All other coming in had been offered jobs at SYC. Are we just going to pretend that SYC isn't bleeding coaches to fit a narrative about the downfall of LMVSC? Get a grip, go do your job, stop acting like you speak fro 1800 families between the 2 clubs. |
Anyone going to the Washington Spirit ID sessions? |
This is correct, all other coaches were offered contracts to return to SYC and they chose to leave. Not saying that they chose LMVSC because it's better but they chose to leave SYC. If they were fired, why are they still finishing the year at SYC with their current teams. |
You obviously have an issue with the ED. Please feel free to move on and go elsewhere. If you still have your kids there then you are the sucker for not having the will-power to move away. |

The meetings this week did not contain any groundbreaking information. The basic gist is that new staff were introduced, a new structure was introduced, and the club acknowledged its shortfalls in enforcing a club-wide curriculum.
That's the thing with LMVSC--so much of the idea of "success" is based on individual coaches and the teams that they personally build. What this means in real time is that a kid with a deficiency in their game who plays for the same coach for 4 years (or more) might never get that deficiency fixed. Now the club is promising to more aggressively implement their curriculum (which apparently already exists) club-wide. Whatever you want to say about the ED, she is definitely committed to getting kids on the field regardless of their ability to pay. She mentioned that some of the club's most successful teams have large numbers of scholarship players. In some cases, a significant majority. While this is "good" in an overall sense for US Soccer, it kind of makes me wonder whether we're just chumps whose fees subsidize other players, who then benefit from the best coaching and competition the club has to offer. Not a great feeling. Some parents took the opportunity to vent at the ED. I'm not sure why, exactly. I guess they think she should be working harder to make sure their favorite coaches stay at the club? The coaching lineup will be coming out this weekend. I look forward to seeing it. |
If you don't know why some parents are venting at the ED, you're obviously very new to the club. It happens every year...and yet nothing changes. But I do agree, are we all paying to pave the FREE way for others??? You know the club survives on those Scholarships right? |
You mean the same way 4 top coaches are leaving LMVSC (announced) on their own and the club has been scrambling for replacements??? Are you part of the bogus PAC committee???? what a joke! |
Both sides are losing coaches to the other. At the end of the day, all these coaches and directors will have work on and off the field. And in 5 years, all this will change again. Stop acting like children, go do your job, and act professionally. |
Great we have a “Go Do Your Job guy”. Dude this is a forum for anyone to express their opinion. You obviously work for LMVSC or a parent sucking on Lula’s tweet. |
And you must be on your way to SYC or someone sucking up to Este's teet. Point remains, SYC isn't a magical place where everything is fine, just like LMVSC. Shouting your opinions here isn't going to make either club great. |
You answered your own question: none of the venting seemed like it had a productive end to it or a change that was either a) realistic, or b) within control of the ED. It was people bitching just to bitch. Honest question: what do you mean when you say that the club survives on those scholarships? Do you mean that the on-field success of the club is dependent on scholarship players? Pay-to-play is obviously the biggest problem in American soccer, so I'm not heartbroken that LMVSC takes pride in addressing this problem. But yeah, there's a little bit of annoyance at the idea that I'm subsidizing better resources for someone else than the club provides for my kids. |
I think that it’s great that the club allows for those that can’t afford to play via scholarships. Instead of bitching that we are subsidizing others, we should try to work with the ED or others to come with better ways to fundraise or find sponsors that would allow the club to have better resources for all of our kids regardless of what team they are on. I’ve seen many other clubs with volunteers doing things to advance the club. Most of our volunteers appear to be team managers and then those that just bitch but don’t do anything when asked. |
