Queen Rania can do whatever she wants. Meghan Markle is not supposed to borrow or pay anything less than full retail.

Harry and Meghan are happy. They should just ignore.
Harry will never be king, so they have more freedom from Royal rules.
Just let go from a lot of the sillyness. There will be judged by today's generation, not the ones Elizabeth had to live up to.

But English are English. The rest of the world is tired of hearing about their royals, let the English love them if they so wish.

Once you are at that level, designers can make a name for themselves by you being photographed wearing their outfit. The picture is further used for advertising.

I don't have a problem with Meghan's spending on clothes just like I don't have a problem with Kate's spending. Meghan has a long history of keeping her nice clothes and shoes in good shape and wearing them over many years. I believe that will continue with her royal wardrobe. She's also being deliberate, it appears, to wear more pared-down, modern jewelry than Kate - with more high street brands in the mix. Just like Kate is more spare on her purses than Meghan. That's fine, they have different tastes.

On a side note - One of the reasons I don't credit the tiara tantrum story is that is so opposite of Meghan's jewelry aesthetic and with a large emerald tiara (I don't mean Eugenie's but one that was known about like the Vladimir tiara). Meghan would have had to have done a lot of research to have known about and requested the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik from the Queen.

Yes, but I don't understand the people who are obsessed about what she pays. Especially because these are often the same people who will fight to the death about Kate's and Will's lack of work and how nobody should criticize them for not working. It's all just forms of subsidy that the British are okay with. I don't see how you can simultaneously make a fuss about whatever MM spends on clothes but then turn around and be totally fine with Will and Kate's lack of work. It seems weird and inconsistent.

And Kate wasn't? Also, you can't generalize about "the Brits." I mean, a good portion of the younger ones don't even want a monarchy.

Eugenie is the one that had the extravagant August wedding modeled after Meghan's that no one showed up to.

Can I just say, as an objective viewer, that the MM fans really started the DCUM feud between the MM/Kate supporters. MM fans were first to criticize Kate for being "lazy" and that MM would show Kate "how it's done." I also think that MM fans are quick to paint anyone who doesn't agree with them or who criticize MM legitimately (such as her spending) as racists. That is appalling and gets everyone's backs up.
