They don’t. The double voters and dead voters in 2016 were all Republicans voting for Trump. |

Funny how that turned out, huh? |

You forgot the part about how you have to show ID to buy groceries. |
|
In what country(ies) can you vote in a state or federal election without a government-issued ID?
 Please tell me. |

Australia is on example of no ID required. Most countries that require voter ID also have a national voter database. Many people have voiced support for a national voter database in the US. I know I’ve posted at least twice on DCUM to support it in just the last month. Do you agree that’s what we should do? It ensures only eligible voters can vote, it is a national system so more protected against interference, it is less susceptible to voter suppression like we see in many states and localities, and it has the support of the federal govt so we can ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to get the ID. Sounds great, right? Let’s hear any legitimate reasons Republicans oppose it. |

Most people in rural areas do have mail service but as I understand it this is not the case on the reservations. The ND had been under an injunction by a federal judge since 2016 until the Supreme Court upheld it a couple of weeks ago. This changed the rules in ND since the injunction was in place during the primaries; this came up during arguments. The reservations are scrambling to implement a system and get IDs out in a very short period of time. People who yammer about dead voters fail to realize that just because a deceased person has not been removed from registration rolls has nothing to do with whether that person's identity is actually used to vote. Presumably there would be a way to confirm whether that has occurred or how often. |

Can we look to other countries to emulate in other ways, too? Like gun laws. |

Listen to yourself. The right to vote is so precious, which means ND should be doing what they can to ensure everyone who is eligible can vote. If you suppress 5000 people's votes in order to prevent one fraudulent vote that is NOT protecting the right to vote. It is not and there is no way you can convince me that is a fair trade off. If it were you being stopped at the polls and told you couldn't vote because some clerk somewhere wrote your name down incorrectly as Elise instead of Elisa, would you take it lying down? If you were told your address was no longer valid in their system, would you take it lying down? Would you say thank god they prevented one person from voting illegally? I don't think so. |

Kansas just moved the one polling place for Dodge City to outside the town limits, at a location that is more than a mile away from the nearest bus stop.
Dodge City is a majority minority town. With one polling place for 27,000 residents. https://www.kansas.com/news/state/article220286260.html?fbclid=IwAR28n-3R4f0TSrdIw2rXgINiqXCY1eJSp_ozdxiXt6rIpLOp0wgSoCFK26E |
| Let's face it. Repubicans are happy with low voter turnout. They are. No one on here can convince me that Republicans and conservatives really like high rates of voter turnout. They know that's bad news for them and they'll do everything they can to make sure it doesn't happen. |

 WOW. Despicable. |

https://thedailydemocracy.org/2017/04/24/its-here-republican-bill-would-create-national-voter-id-law/ A Republican is proposing one. It tends to be Democrats who are against voter IDs, fwiw. |

We’re against voter IDs because a) there’s not that much voter fraud - and it’s usually GOPpers who are doing it b) there’s no uniformity or common sense in what’s acceptable c) the way they’re implemented is almost always the most racist, precision targeted tool to block Democratic voters. Every time. The GOP only wins by cheating. Gerrymandering. Voter suppression. Treason. And you goppers have to admit you’re okay with denying people their right to vote, because that’s what you keep supporting. GOP voters are a bunch of ignorant and dirty cheaters. |

What's a national voter database? Does that mean it auto-votes for people along party-lines as long as they signed up once in their lives? |

hahaha. someone is really drinking the kool-aid. |
