Loudoun Struggles in ECNL

Let us know how that goes for you. I am sure McLean 07 parents are down on the team right now.

Like most teams there is a core group of quality players. most seem to want to stay. it would take i say at least 3 of the starters going to DA to cause a possible change in desires. If 1-2 left, and somehow thought Arl or WS --- FCV too far and has a bad rep already from the encl days --- somehow better programs, it wouldn't be a problem. but those clubs are struggling, so i don't see top 3 moving. the thought is maybe a few come in from nearby to strengthen. lower players would move to reserves on larger roster, so on and so forth. not every GFR or Arl girl wants to start DA a year earlier then normal in this pilot program. just not necessary.

I think the miscalculation most on this thread are making is that they believe the 'core group' of quality players on their A team is like 10 players deep. When you're talking DA/ECNL, its more like 5.

Do you fail to understand the landscape or are you just a parrot?

04-01 FCV teams were formed when ECNL was the clear cut top league. Loudoun had lost players in those age groups a loooong time ago and ECNL did not bring those players back from FCV or McLean.

The 05 and 06 team were quickly formed due to the short lived Loudoun/FCV merger. Those kids had an understanding if not offers well before Loudoun was awarded ECNL.

ECNL was announced during the FCV ID process. Before the announcement, Loudoun kids were at FCV in droves. After the announcement nobody went, zero, nothing zip.

The 07 tryouts were a joke. A few people came out of curiosity but left shaking their heads like walking out of a empty restaurant at peak dinner rush. FCV can't fill their younger age groups and frankly with so many options most people are staying at their clubs. Whether you want to admit it or not, parents realize that they no longer need FCV or McLean anymore.

+1 This history is exactly right. Loudoun 07 will stay home with an easy and very good option called ECNL. You think Mclean kids are not content with their home option? Or Braddock? PP gets it.

Spirit and FCV will have to make what they have work. For FCV, that is not much.

Then for Spirit it is even less, just saying At least FCV can turn to their older DA teams and say "look what you can become" What does Spirit say "look at what loosing looks like, better get used to it, but hey we are developing you "

^ This is another miscalculation. That 07 players are lemmings and care about how the older players do. We understand how those teams got strong by being the inly option. You think we are foolish enough to think this is 2015. We know these 07 team well. We know the players. We talk. It’s always been this way. Look at how strong the 18/19 McLean team is. Why didn’t m the best U15 and U16 players flock to them. It varies year to year.

Here is the thing, the 07s have won nothing yet. Its a nice sales pitch, but you aren't hearing the answer. Loudoun players are not interested, they have not shown any interest at past tryouts and they are telling you here and now that they are not coming over.

I sure hope FCV develops your DD as they claim because they are not going to be able to recruit themselves out of this hole.

Actually, Spirit’s senior DA team is doing pretty well after only a little over a year of developing together, but carry on with your FCV nonsense

Time to start a “McLean Struggles in ECNL” thread and start pimping FCV to them.

McLean, VDA and Richmond United are doing much better than Loudoun in ECNL with some of their teams in the first or second place in standings so I doubt there will be threads like you suggest.

Again, who is your target audience? The 07 parents are well aware of their team dynamics and have been competitive at every level they have played. You don't seem to understand that it is well known that Loudoun kids in older age groups left for ECNL club years ago. You are assuming that trend will continue when Loudoun parents are clearly stating that they will stay with Loudoun and with ECNL.

They are 2-1 this year, loosing to FCV who is 4-0. In fact, they are the only Spirit team that has won a game. But carry on with your Spirit Kool Aid drinking, keep believing that it is not about the wins, it is about the development. At some point development turns in to wins or the "developers" are not doing their job or the "developees" are just not that good, you pick.

WS is the new target after epic fail on Loudoun.

OK--I'm good. You sound like you could use some relaxation or a release.

A PP mentioned Clyde Watson turning around the lower age groups given what happened to the 2006s. If that happens for 07s, you won't see a single player in any carpool out of McLean. It is VERY year-to-year and age group specific. FCV poster (seems to be just one) sounds like he is out of sync.

FCV posters are like Redskins fans in 1991.
