multiculturalism is a big problem. It doesn't work |
Or, we don’t want an underclass here of illiterates unable to work when they grow up. Similarly, other services - like the police! - have not checked immigration status because they don’t want an underclass dying in the streets. The cops in various jurisdictions want people to come forward and not be permanent victims of violent crime. |
You said it. Why would I want to live in an area that looks like a third-world country, 14-year-olds who should be in school hang out in McDonalds all day, and people don't even speak English? You think that's appealing, here in America? |
Or we can send them to their home countries where they won't be our problem. |
I’d like to see a study of the economic impact if all the undocumented workers suddenly disappeared. Because I suspect it wouldn’t be the utopia all you hardliners are fantasizing about. Illegal immigrants actually pay billions in tax dollars, never mind spending money on goods and housing. Never mind the work they do.
Since Trump started cracking down, it’s led to a drop in those filing returns. Yet more drop in revenue thanks to Trump https://www.npr.org/2017/04/17/523634144/tax-filings-seen-dipping-amid-trump-crackdown-on-illegal-immigration |
You're forgetting something: THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. |
Interesting, especially since there has been an increase in revenues collected. |
God. Get them on tax evasion in addition to illegal entry. If there is one thing the US government won't stand for it is tax evasion. Al Capone was convicted on tax evasion charges after all. |
So happy you’re not my neighbor here in my beautiful street in MoCo. By the way my next door neighbor is an immigrant who has been here for 40 years and barely speaks English. Love her and her generosity and neighborliness. She’s European, by the way. |
+1 it's like they forget that |
There are always exceptions. But parts of MoCo have gone downhill big-time because of the influx of illegal immigrants. Deny it all you want. |
I'm sure your nice neighbor makes up for trash in the streets and poor schools! |
I’ll take MoCo any time over the 99% white midwestern county my parents live in, where I grew up, nary an immigrant in sight but one of the most depressed flat economies around. Housing prices stagnant. Schools mediocre. Few thriving businesses. Almost no public transportation. Roads in bad shape. No thanks. I’ll stick to my lively community. We’re grateful people like you don’t care to live with us. Thanks for staying away. Really, I’m grateful. |
She doesn’t need to. No trash in our streets and my kids have gone to great public schools! |
Who says it's a choice between a flat, depressed town in the Midwest and a suburb of poor, illegal immigrants who don't speak English, with school kids who hang out in the McDonalds all day rather than go to class, and where the school quality is a 3? No. The choice is between THAT and a middle-class neighborhood with college-educated and hard-working skilled high school graduates of ALL colors, with schools rated at least a 6. It is absurd that liberals pretend it's so wonderful to live among barely literate high school dropouts whose kids don't even go to class, where there is trash and old furniture on the front lawn, and two and three families bundle up in homes meant for a single family. |
