How have Illegal Immigrants personally impacted you, good and bad?

Exactly. They really don’t care about the LAW.

They’re impotent losers just looking to dump on someone they deem less “worthy” than themselves. “Illegals”, BLM, etc. Funny they don’t recognize the pattern to their hate.

No but you should if you tape them or otherwise unnecessarily assault them. Which is the actual analogy to the drunk driver story

I know a lot of illegals. Mostly “good” people. Some using a lot of govt assistance. Some don’t fit here well and are not leaving a good legacy (think of lots of pregnant unmarried daughters).

I also have family in Europe that would love to come here and cannot get work visa to move

I like immigrants but I want them to come legally, only.

So sad Trump is shutting down legal immigration too.

Undocumented labor plays an important role in keeping our economy going. We need more workers than we have. Raising wages won’t do it, because we are already effectively at full employment. We really need to find a way to give workers a way to be here legally as they contribute so much to the economy..

For real. If Republicans cared about law and order they would be incensed at the lawless president who just this morning basically declared he couldn't be impeached as long as he's doing "a good job." In other words, if the economy is doing okay there's no reason to care if he goes out and shoots someone on 5th Avenue. And his supporters absolutely agree with that.

So spare me the yapping about breaking the law. Trump has a habit of hiring criminals and he has shady business connections that would make a mob boss blush. His Trump University was found in court to be one huge fraud. He has illegally stiffed contractors of their payments. He broke civil rights laws as a landlord in the 1970s. We all know he's got something funny going on with his taxes or otherwise he wouldn't fight so hard to keep his returns secret. His own wife dubiously received a visa to work here.

Law and order, my @ss.

Exactly. And let’s not forget the real issue here. Racism. Trump reminded his supporters where he stands today by tweeting nonsense about the plight of white farmers in South Africa.

Now she has two children nearing high school age, and the public school have gone downhill beyond belief. Just TERRIBLE. Scores far below the county average, with high ESOL and FARM rates, and at least a third certainly illegal. They can't afford private school, and can't afford a SF house in a better school district. They are seriously considering selling their house (which is really nice and in great shape) and buying an older townhouse in Bethesda for the same money.

Oh look it's the anti-SS poster from the real estate and MD schools thread whose migrated over into the politics forum.

Hi SS-hater poster! We see you!

Nope. That's someone else. I never to to the real estate forum.

Are you upset because I pointed out a negative impact of illegal immigration?

No I am rolling my eyes at someone who doesn't know Silver Spring very well. Love our vibrant diverse neighorhood and our vibrant diverse schools. My kids regularly test in the 96-99% on all standardized tests, sorry to burst your bubble! But we're happy people like you don't want to live here.

Sorry Jeff, I'll stop after this one so as not to derail thread.

I know Silver Soring very well. I grew up there, and when I went, the schools were great. Now they are unrecognizable, at least the one my friend's kids are fated to attend. It is the lowest scoring school in the county. You can pretend it's all fine and dandy, but the influx of poor, non-Engkish speaking illegal immigrants has not been without a serious negative impact.

Learn to deal with it. Or just keep going to Trump rallies wearing your MAGA hat.

I thought illegals couldn't use govt assistance.

And the pregnant, unmarried daughters? More anchor babies for American taxpayers to support.

I know a lot of people who have migrated to the US. I have no idea who of them are legal or illegal. They are all hard working and assets to the community.

I've never been to a Trump rally not do I own a MAGA hat. I don't even like the guy.

But you are yet another liberal proving that she cares more about illegals who bring down the quality of our schools than the parents who are forced to sell their house to get their kids into a decent school, rather than have them in the lowest-scoring high school in the entire county.

Also interesting is that OP asked how we have been impacted, but clearly liberals only want to hear about good things. As soon as someone points out the negatives, the "tolerant" libs come out to insult and mock. So typical.

I only know of one illegal immigrant who worked for a contractor I hired. I got to know him and he told me one day that he was illegal. The contractor was very high end, so I was surprised. This guy was a great worker, a very smart, highly skilled worker. Our country needs people like him. He came here and overstayed his visa. He worked hard and paid taxes. A very honest, scrupulous person who fled a country where there were no jobs for him, despite his university degree. It’s sickening that some people would call this man “an illegal.” I don’t know what happened to him, but he owned a house and paid taxes. He is an honorable person who would have lept at citizenship,
and I for one would welcome him.

"Undocumented labor?" You mean we should encourage people to violate our immigration laws, since doing so helps the economy?
