There are tons of OOS students at JMU, UVA, Tech, W&M, etc.

VT is also 23% OOS. GMU is only 10% and VCU is 7%.
UVA is 27% and W&M - 30%.

In contrast, the MD state schools and OOS students:
UMD - 21%; UMBC - 5%; Towson - 13%, Salisbury - 13% and Frostburg - 6%.

GMU has 20% OOS and international.

+1. It's also the most diverse university in the country. https://relations.gmu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Key-Facts-Pocket-Card-2017-State-Government-Relations.pdf

Does this include international students? The numbers seem a bit low.

Yes. International is counted as OOs.

The common data set numbers DO NOT include internationals. Section F states "Percent out of state (excluding international/nonresident aliens)".

Ah, that explains why the figures are low. Thank you

Is there anywhere to find the international student % for each school? Why would it not be in the CDS?

How can it or you claim "most diverse university in the country"? It isn't supported by the PDF. 81% are from in-state. There are schools in the U.S. with 30% international students.

LOL at yourself. You are citing from "colleges" lists. The universities are treated separately by most listing services. A prof from GMU came on DCUM a few months ago citing the very impressive diversity statistics at GMU.

If you’re going to make the claim that GMU is “the most diverse college in the country” you need to back it up with evidence.

and here is the rank - U.S. News & World Report naming GMu most diverse University in the nation. Meanwhile I will find that professor who posted on DCUM about the diversity statistics at GMU but it may take me a day or two to get back to it. https://www2.gmu.edu/news/452276

Whoops sorry - that was most diverse university in Virginia ^^ but there's also a ranking of it as no. 1 in the nation. To the ignorant person who said but how can that be - it's mostly virginians, think! Virginians come from all walks of life and offer extraordinary diversity, especially racial. So do the OOS and international students.

Princeton Review names George Mason most diverse university in nation. https://spirit.gmu.edu/archives/fall05/diverse.html

Yiiiiikes. I guess they don’t teach reading at GMU? Seriously, it’s in the first sentence.

From your link: Us news cited George Mason as the top ranked institution in VIRGINIA for campus diversity.

A few paragraphs later, it states that GMU is 22ND in the nation for diversity. Which is obviously still quite good, but you are not making your case for GMU here.

That link doesn’t work, and “most diverse universities” is not a category that Princeton Review ranks.

Found it. Prof. at GMU at this threads mentions GMU is most diverse university in nation at 21:00. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/15/714608.page

uh, yeah. I said "sorry" right after it after I posted. Maybe YOU need to learn to read. And no I didn't go to Mason. Why the insults on this forum? We're supposed to be helping one another. Every time anyone makes a typo or a mistake the predictable insults come out, "looks like they didn't teach -- at ___". snicker.
