Kim Cattrall SJP feud

Who's the delusional person insisting that Kim has "let herself go"? She looks absolutely amazing to be in her 60s and doesn't look all that much different than she did in the show. Stop hating, it's not a good look.

They weren’t friends. Kim was bothered by SJP’s public sympathy message on social media (either to try to make herself look caring and not the bitch or capitalizing on Kim’s grief to try to make amends). Both despicable.

In the immediate aftermath of a loved one’s death, the phonies always come out whether you are famous or not.

I can understand Kim’s reaction.

This is true; however, SJP was damned if she did, damned if she didn't. If she hadn't expressed her condolences, everyone would be slamming her for being an uncaring bitch. But since she did, everyone's slamming her for "exploiting the situation." She can't win.

Personally, if I was SJP, I would have sent Kim a private message expressing my condolences. If Kim didn't like it, it would at least have remained private.

She's grieving for ffs and SJP does seem pretty obsessed with projecting a nice girl persona. She should have expressed her condolences privately if they were sincere!

Where is the IG post from SJP that is as rude at KC?

"Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx."

The issue is that while I'm totally okay with believing that SJP is fake or that they have bad blood between them, Kim's response just makes Kim look bad.

This. Kim should have just completely ignored SJP's very gracious post, because she's only made herself look bad.

I never comment on celebrity crap like this but I am this time because Kim Cattrall's response was truly horrid. No matter what happened or whom you hate, you accept condolences on behalf of your deceased loved one and his family. She should have said nothing.

I really didn't see anything wrong with SJP's comment and I did think that KC's response was over the top and just nasty.

Something I don't understand. If they were not friends in real life, why is KC mad that SJP wasn't "nicer" in the negotiations for a SATC third movie? It's a business negotiation between people who are not friends. What's her problem?

Personally, I think SATC is over and done with. The movies were terrible. If they insist on making another, just leave KC out. Have her out jet-setting with people bringing her up once or twice. I don't think Samantha, in particular, made the show and I wouldn't miss her at all. Actually, I don't miss any of them and think they should live on in late night reruns and stay off the big screen.

I don’t understand Kim’s reaction. I don’t particularly like one of my co-workers and we are definitely not friends, but I still sent my condolences to him when his mom died not because I was trying to be a “nice girl” but because it was the right thing to do.

Yep. And if you hadn't, it would have been very strange.

+1. I thought that's what most people would do if they had manners.

That’s different. It was a co-worker.

If somebody I hated or caused me harm/grief in the past and I wasn’t in friendly or speaking terms and never planned to be—seeing their condolences very soon after a loved one’s death when I knew it wasn’t sincere would cause me further pain. Not something to inflict on the grieving.

Did you send your condolences publicly though? I think Kim’s issue is that it wasn’t done privately, but rather on social media. If Kim is telling the truth about SJP being nasty to her for years, then the public comment comes across as insincere.

Anonymous wrote:What Kim said to SJP is really awful. She posted the news of her brother's death. If her SATC co-stars had ignored it, she'd probably be lashing out at them for that. Instead, SJP and Cynthia Nixon both posted condolences. Kim responded to CN with: 'Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim #SexandtheCity.

Then responded to SJP with: I don't need your love or support at this tragic time. My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.

Wtf, Kim? I get that you're grieving, but that seems completely unnecessary.

OP, is it really a feud if it's so one-sided?

That kind of tells me that SJP really was a b*tch to Kim during the SATC days and that Kim feels the "reaching out" SJP does is just for show.

Perhaps.

I get that she is going through a difficult time, but she simply could have chosen not to respond, instead of lashing out in such an ugly way. There is something to be said for keeping a dignified silence.

KC's brother died. SJP could have practiced a more dignified and silent way of reaching out instead of doing so publicly. I don't blame KC for calling her out. SJP was exploiting his death to make it seem like she was the nice guy.

From all accounts, it sounds like KC was really treated badly by SJP.

As for the baby thing, 40s for an actress with means isn't too old. She could've used donor eggs. But given her role on the show, there was no way she could film while pregnant. More than any of the other characters, it was important for her to stay in shape. And she should've been compensated more than SJP. She was the biggest name. And her character and her acting made the show. That's why they wouldn't do the movie without her.

You could've replaced SJP with any other actress, and it would've been fine. But Kim Cattrall's Samantha was a huge reason the show was a hit and was also a huge reason that men watched and that it had a wider audience than just single 30-something women. Without Samantha, the rest of the characters and story lines wouldn't have been interesting to as broad a range of viewers, and it would've been more of a cult favorite than an HBO hit.

This! Samatha stole the show and it grated on SJP. The show became smarmy when SJP started producing the show. Carrie changed in a cringe worthy way not related to frank sexual themes. Carrie's lines were just awful and smarmy. In the beginning she had a razor wit and wouldn't have tolerated Big's crap. The lack of reality re her life style and the commercialism they pushed ruined it.

For the people who keep saying Catrall should have kept quiet, through all of this SJP has leaked info to the press to blame Catrall for any difficulty with the show whether Catrall had anything to do with it or not. SJP made it appear that Catrall was acting like a diva demanding things when she never did. It was a slimy, manipulative way to force Catrall in to signing on to the movies. Kim said no one had contacted her when there were stories that she was demanding more money to do the second movie. Slimy.

Also SJP was horrible on WWHL with Any Cohen. It was not enjoyable to watch.

Those movies were horrible. I regretted every penny I spent on the last one. Why would anyone think the world needs another? Can you imagine how unbearable it would be? I think SJP can't stand not being in the limelight. Is her new tv series not getting her enough attention?

But wasn’t it just a comment on IG? There are like 1000 comments on that post. She didn’t do a separate post. You’d have to look to find it.
