How do you feel about black pants for mcps winter concerts?

For an allegedly excellent school district, I think our music programs are uniformly crummy across mcps.

Google holiday school concert and you'll find much better programs.

Have you seen the Motown shows from Baldwin Hills? This school's annual concert has gone viral. It's amazing!

You have not been to a Takoma Park MS or Montgomery Blair HS orchestra concert, obviously.

MCPS schools with a very high percentage of FARMS kids still do proper concert dress. And yes, somehow the parents, who are often working multiple minimum-wage jobs, manage to get their kids into the requisite white shirt, black pants, black shoes. I suspect there is some hand-me-down swapping going on, and the clothing is not necessarily a perfect fit. The kids are often wearing casual walking shoes or loafers in black, but not sneakers.

In my high school (non-MCPS), boys who needed tuxes for music programs could rent them through the school, and the tuxes could be traded in mid-year if kids outgrew them. Girls and younger kids were expected to own white/black outfits.

Correct.

And this thread is about elementary school winter concerts...where the kids sing.
