And it’s probably not enough to pay their debt, either.

An extra billion in their pockets can pay a bunch of lawyers for a long time.

McCain's now supporting it, so looks like a done deal.

Then why are the wealthy DCUMers earning in the top 2% complaining they can't deduct the full value of their $1.5 McMansion? Oh right.....they think they're middle income.

It’s really depressing that this bill, which could have such a profound impact, is being rushed through without thought. This article explains it well.

Sure we can be even more critical of this bill: it is good news for the ultrarich (the top 1% of the population) and bad news for everybody else.

Yes, the economy is smashing expectations as they’ve r I edit upwards again. A lot of the drive was the tax cuts. They want a vibrant economy which will create revenue and give people good work.

Oh yes. That worked so well for Kansas. Are you stupid?

It won't. Corporations are already sitting on piles of cash and, while unemployment is fairly low, incomes are stagnant and have been for a long time. Letting wealth concentrate in fewer hands while exploding the deficit and/or slashing the social safety net isn't going to help that.

When a liberal like you makes such a statement of absolutes - waaaaa.....only the top 1% win and 99% lose - it tells me that you really have the liberal blinders on. Most people, in all income brackets, will win.

So with robots and automation, how will the decreasing payroll tax revenue be replaced?

This was published Nov. 8. It’s out of date. Now there are provisions that will sunset after several years, eliminating benefits for middle and lower classes. Plus, wildly exploding the deficit and allowing drilling in the Arctic national wildlife refuge, protecting fetuses, etc., etc. It’s a pork free-for-all for far right conservatives and Republican donors.
