Some people here don't seem to get that A. About half of the Dems actually hate the Podestas.
B. The Clinton supporters who don't hate them, don't really care about them

They are collateral damage. Which we are fine with.

Podesta is handing over full operational and control to the firm’s CEO Kimberley Fritts, according to the report. Fritts and a senior group of the Podesta team will be launching a new firm in the next one or two days, a move reportedly in the works for the past several months.

Wait. They are closing up shop and starting a whole new company??

Great way to wash the books, eh?

Yup. That's what disgusts me most about Trumpsters. They seriously can't even imagine that someone would actually put country ahead of party. If Podesta - either of them - are guilty of crimes against the country, then lock them up. if Hillary colluded with Russia (badly, evidently) then lock her up.
I'm far more concerned about maintaining a reasonably functioning democracy than I am about what letter is next to some criminals name.

That people have trouble believing that says far more about them than anything else.

You are full of s***. No one is defending Manafort. These lobbyists whether it’s Podesta or Manafort need to go to jail if they broke the law. But I don’t see you’re concerned about Obama administration’s unmasking US citizens, paying Fusion GPS, approving Uranium deal despite FBI investigation.

Because none of theae things were close to being illegal which you would know if you got your news from somewhere other than Fox or Brietbart.

Oh sure this side may throw you two more pennies than that side, but either way whoever is in office just ends up putting millions in someone else's pockets and it damn sure ain't their constituents - the people they're supposed to be serving and representing. It's all a game to these politicians, a game to see which billionaires can acquire more money and more power and it doesn't matter if this sides ideals align with yours. It doesn't matter if that side doesn't share the same stance as you on certain issues. Who are they truly looking out for? Who are they truly answering to? It's not the people that's for sure. They talk all this bullshit when campaigning and shake your hands and kiss your babies and make more promises than a hard-up first date trying to get some after a few drinks, but after the votes are counted they couldn't care less about your plight or your problems or your priorities. Whole damn system is broken and people are too stupid to see it because they're too busy cheering, "Yay my guy won like that means something.

I guess it depends if you are someone who needs health insurance and has a preexisting conditions, is gay and wants to marry your partner, wat a new park or metro station in your neighborhood, etc. There are things that matter to my problems and interests that I do get. Of course I don't ask for things beyond what a democratic govt can provide.

BTW, alienating us from all elected officials, and in fact from the whole democratic process, would be something Putin would want.

Not advocating for an autocracy merely dissatisfied with the lack of sincere representation and irritated by the the duplicity of politicians and saddened by the absence of accountability because the people are too busy cheering for or adamantly defending whatever crook or idiot is in office simply because "That guy is on my team" and don't hold elected officials responsible for anything. The president himself said he could "stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody" and not "lose any voters." And he's right because government has become nothing more than a Saturday afternoon college football game and all the fans care about is seeing their team win. They don't care how expensive the tickets are they don't care how ridiculously overpriced the concessions are they don't care if the star quarterback raped some cheerleader or if the Heisman running back is getting money from boosters or if the entire defense is doped up with HGH and essentially cheating - none of that matters all they know is they love their team and hate the opposition and winning is all that matters even if they don't gain a damn thing but fleeting happiness and a false sense of foolish pride from seeing their side win.

Why isn't it an option for someone to want EVERYONE to go down regardless of political ideology?

Why isn't it an option for the American people to see justice served across the board - liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans. Why can't Americans want everyone and anyone who has contributed to the destabilization of our democracy to get locked up?

Why do American's have to "choose a side" and only want the folks on the other side of the aisle to get punished? How does that clean up the shitshow that is our government at present?

Y'all need to wake the F up and stop clinging to party affiliations for dear life. If you truly care about this country and want things to be better you'll want everyone and anyone who is crooked to get locked up regardless of whether they're on the left or the right.

Because I've never met a liberal who truly means that. I do see this come out when the arrows are pointed in Dem directions.

Hillary included?

Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, three sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Manafort had organized a public relations campaign for a non-profit called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU). Podesta's company was one of many firms that worked on the campaign, which promoted Ukraine's image in the West.

The sources said the investigation into Podesta and his company began as more of a fact-finding mission about the ECMU and Manafort's role in the campaign, but has now morphed into a criminal inquiry into whether the firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, known as FARA.

This whole thing is going to end up just like the whitewater farce. Two years from now someone will be indicted for something only tangentially related to the original investigation.

I can't wait until Trump is impeached and sent to jail for using banned aerosols in his hairspray!

I don't understand why conservatives think liberals care about Tony Podesta. Or any Podesta. We really don't.

Why didn't Mueller address the Podesta Group criminal activities while he was Director of the FBI under President Obama?
