What does that even mean? A sacrificial lamb is an animal that takes the sins so that the people don't need to die. Do I think Tony Podesta is going to be the only one that gets punished out of the Mueller investigation? No, I don't. If there is a sacrificial lamb it will be Flynn. Not sure what Weinstein has to do with anything.

Just like with Weinstein, there are many more guilty persons than just one.

Okay then. Why the dumb post about sacrificial lambs? Re: Weinstein, we have lots of people getting in trouble for sexual harrassment. O'Reilly was the first (or was it Ailes?) and now Toback. Take them all down.

Yup. There will be no silent condoning of collusion with a foreign governemtn or sexual harrassment in my book!!! I dont care WHO is the guilty party. That person should be exposed and punished.

Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, three sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Manafort had organized a public relations campaign for a non-profit called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU). Podesta's company was one of many firms that worked on the campaign, which promoted Ukraine's image in the West.

The sources said the investigation into Podesta and his company began as more of a fact-finding mission about the ECMU and Manafort's role in the campaign, but has now morphed into a criminal inquiry into whether the firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, known as FARA.

This whole thing is going to end up just like the whitewater farce. Two years from now someone will be indicted for something only tangentially related to the original investigation.

No one should have their personal prosecutor, and the fact that we do this in our government should scare everyone of both parties.

Exactly. This is the biggest issue in Washington - across all parties - and no one is addressing it.

First of all, did you say the same thing in 1998?

Second, Mueller was hired to investigate Russian interference in the election. If the Podesta Group has ties to Ukraine and is involved in some way, then it should be investigated. If Trump has been laundering Russian money and is beholden to Russian in some way, that should be investigated. If a former general has ties to Russia and Turkey and lied about those ties, that should be investigated.

If there is subsequent cover-up of said facts, then those are crimes central to the investigation.

Apparently not running off at the mouth about anonymous allegations about an ongoing investigation. They aren't even public officials anymore, so why would they need to comment on this? There aren't any "revelations" yet, other than that Mueller et al. are apparently following the money, and it led them to this law firm, which they are now investigating. We don't yet know whether and to what extent the Podesta Group violated FARA; presumably, if Mueller comes to the conclusion that it did, there will be an indictment. Just as with the other people and entities being investigated. If they are guilty, they should be punished, regardless of political affiliation. Foreign interference in our elections is a big deal, and anyone involved should be punished. If this is a partisan issue to you, then you are a messed-up person.

Exactly.

Because this is actual patriotism. As opposed to flag pins and what one does during the national anthem.

Why would you, or anyone be opposed
to our flag or national anthem?

The opposition is to compulsory displays of patriotism. Our oath is to the Constitution, not a song or a flag.

Currently looking at the American flag flying in the breeze on my front porch. But my brain is big enough to understand that some of my fellow Americans might feel differently about it than I do, given how they've been treated historically in this country by their fellow Americans. And I'm grateful for their legal right, under the Constitution, to express their views.
