Correct. |
White racists and antisemites fear those who are perceived as a threat to their status. They do not feel particularly threatened,in the academic realm,by African Americans and Latinos, judging by their championing of affirmative action. Asians and (to reach back in time) Jews: another matter. |
I'm white and I saw this this morning
http://www.vox.com/2016/5/22/11704756/affirmative-action-merit Really opened my eyes on some stuff Still think holistic admissions is the way to go |
It's violin or private lessons for piano. Asian children learn piano too. Don't forget piano. |
Rich white people, legacies, etc., can find their way around any policy. So long as their offspring are not rejected, they don't care, one way or the other, about affirmative action or holistic admissions. |
I don’t think “what white people want" has anything to do with what the admissions committees at the Ivies are looking for in building their class every year. Different perspectives. |
lol are you serious
Even ivies are motivated by getting more money Who do you think donates the most to the schools..... follow the money |
It's also all that PC nonsense run amok. Someone who has perfect SAT scores shouldn't lose out to a guy who wore a dress to his prom and lists it as his major accomplishment/hook on his application. That's just ludicrous. This is why other countries laugh at America and hate us. |
The poor white kid has a great advantage in life if he's not stating at a screen with z pretend social life on it and being ferried to canned/staged activities all the time. Odds are the poor white kid will have s job early on too. The poor white kid will have better social and problem solving skills and perhaps mental health even (if he had a happy non abusive childhood despite being poor). |
If it is OK to limit the number of qualified Asian Americans into elite universities using holistic admissions, then why wasn't it ok years ago when Harvard went this route to limit the number of Jews? Why do we look back on that time and shake our heads, and we all agree it was terrible for Harvard to do this, but then think it's fine today to do this very same thing to a different group of people? |

Yup. We are white people who cannot buy a library. Our DC is smart, accomplished and hard working . As she is not an Olympic athlete not has she started a non profit yet and we can't contribute to the school DC has no chance at an Ivy League education. No chance. If you look at the scatter plots for who gets into those schools a huge number of rejected applicants have perfect test scores and grades. We do realize that someone has to fund those schools. |
The list of organizations organizations is a joke. It doesn't include any of the major Asian American organizations - Japanese American Citizens League, Organization of Chinese Americans, Korean American Coalition, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC),
Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund (AALDEF), Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), etc. This was cooked up and funded by an organized WHITE anti-affirmative action folks using Asian-Americans as cover. I love that the first complainant is "Custom Mansions Owner Association of Diamond Bar." HAHAHAHA |
Stuff white people like
aka stuff yuppies like aka stuff kids of most DCUM posters like (whether white or not) |
Yet, you have no problem insulting others. Your self-righteousness falls on deaf ears. |
