Did I say that she was presented at St. Cecilia? But if you look back at the clips from the first season, both Thomas and Whitney mention her family history. Her name is clearly still currency in Charleston. |

FYI
None of the girls/women on Southern Charm were ever 'presented'---i.e. made their 'debut' to society in South Carolina. The least 'Southern' of them all is the elderly Patricia. She is basically a gypsy --living in Northern Va during her youth and the Richmond Debutant records show she also was never 'debuted' as a daughter of the South/State. So as far as high society of the South none of them qualify. You aren't going to find any actual 'pillars of Southern society' who would appear on a reality TV show. Particularly Southern women 3/4 of a century old like Patricia. Its not acceptable in the 'old South society that still rules SC to put your 'private life' on display. So ignore the hype of Southern this and that and just view these people as what they are---people who want to be 'reality stars' for money fame or ego or whatever. |
who eats like a trucker. Yes, she's so cute but they are always eating on the show and she talks with her mouth full of food or chews with her mouth open. What the hell? |
Ugh I can't stand JD. He's a self centered blow hard who sees himself as being far more appealing than he is. No one is that likable on this show. Shep is the most appealing but he seems like a loser future alcoholic to me. I think Craig's girlfriend cried about the bourboun thing because Craig has nothing else, thus no reason to be on the show. |
Yet no one on this post has slammed Shep for being a whore and a slut. He barely works, is probably an alcoholic, and tries to screw everything that moves but that is a ok. This is a bunch of sexist bullshit. She is immature but slamming her for having sex is ignorant. |
The moments in the latest episode between Whitney and his girlfriend were so bizarre and cringeworthy. Did he actually say that they don't really have a relationship or that he doesn't know if they do have a relationship? That was revealing. What a strange guy who does not know how to act around women. |

Am I the only one that thinks Craig is spot on with his accusation of Whitney?
I think he did have feelings for Kathryn that went unrequited, thus the enraged reaction to Craig's accusation. If Whitney has no interest in Kathryn, then why did Whitney go off the rails to Craig? |
I also thought Craig was spot on. Here's what confused me though...Isn't Whitney is a producer of Southern Charm? Why would he deny these rumors so fiercely but then allow the background footage showing his relationship with Kathryn to air? It makes him look like an idiot. |
No, I don't think Craig is spot on at all. It makes for good drama on Bravo but that's it. Remember, Kathryn herself said that she slept with Thomas first, then never heard from him. She then shacked up with Whitney. Like with Shep, I think Whitney only thought of her as a f*** toy. She then went back to Thomas at the party, which may have irritated Whitney but that's all. Whitney hates her but for other reasons. He's a typical guy and does not like confrontation. She went OFF on him (and Landon) several times, most notably when they were all at St. Simon's Island. Plus, he knows his mother doesn't like her (remember the comments from Pat and all of Kathryn's clothes strewn in a mess all over his room?). Kathryn herself said that only "dated" for five days. Seriously, was that a joke? Guys like him don't fall in love after a five day hook-up. He went off the rails to Craig because it is just so incredulous that Craig would even suggest such a thing. Imagine if you were a seriously left-leaning liberal, and someone accused you of secretly being in love with Ted Cruz. You'd lose your shit. That's what Whitney's face said. |
|
I think Craig is spot on.
In fact, I like Cameron even less because she is fighting so hard against Craig's theory. |
No one is even sure Whitney is straight, yet you think he fell in love with Kathryn within a week? |
Yes, Craig is definitely right on this one. Whitney helped with the formation and production of the show in the first season, he still may have some roles in the show but not like on the first season when he pitched the idea. I think this is why Kathryn never mentioned their short lived relationship previously and why we didn't see too much of it back then. The show has taken off now and Whitney doesn't have as much say in which direction to portray the cast members. He is a very weird person and those scenes with his 'girlfriend' if he can call her that were very awkward to watch. He's like a 13 year old trapped in a 50 year old's body. |
Well, if he is indeed gay, then having footage of Kathryn's things in his room may put those rumors to rest. Kathryn said she spent five days at his house. He says it was a one night stand. Given that she lives in Monck's Corner, which is easily an hour and a half from downtown Charleston where Pat lives, I can totally see her moving things around like a gypsy crashing on people's couches, etc. That would explain all her stuff there. I don't see him denying that they f***ed. In fact, they filmed a special scene in the first or second season where Whitney take Thomas aside to tell him that he too screwed around with her. When Craig confronted Kathryn about being a whore at the dinner at Thomas', he even said, You were with three guys at this table within one week. Meaning, Kathryn was with Shep, Thomas and Whitney all within a week, which to me confirms Whitney's side of the story. I think all this stuff that happened in this last episode - the Craig Confrontation - was for the cameras. |

No, you dissenters are wrong.
Whitney reacted that way to Shep because 'he was caught.' Deny, deny, deny is how people are caught in a lie. Whitney may not be in love with Kathryn, but he has some deeply rooted feeling for her, or he wouldn't care so much. The opposite of love is not hate, it's APATHY. He is very hateful to toward Kathryn. |
| Whitney reacted that way because he and everyone on that show knows the reason he's mad at Kathryn is she glommed her way onto the show and made it about her and Thomas. She ruined his show which he wanted to be the anti-Bravo-drama. He sputtered and stuttered because it's breaking the 4th wall to say that and that's also why everyone else was so ticked at Craig- because they all know that's why Whitney hates Kathryn but Craig, for the sake of playing a character on a reality show, came up with this crap on camera knowing full damn well that's not the case. But it's the first rule of reality TV you can't talk about being on reality TV on reality TV so Whitney didn't know how to defend himself to Craig's obvious machinations. |
