He is a technical manager at a big computer company. Think Microsoft, Apple. Facebook level.
Me- $8,000 from education consulting very part time and selling on eBay.

With that income why on earth are selling on eBay?

Dh makes a good amount, 350k, and we're comfortable. I sold things (and shopped at Goodwill) when we he was still in grad school and I was a SAHM and we were scraping by but now I just donate all of our things that we no longer use hoping it will help someone else out like it did us.

It's my hobby and it gives me something to do during the day. I did the PTSA, room parent and HOA thing for 10 years and am so burned out... Now I train for half marathons and shop.

What your best eBay secret?

Don't do it - it's not what it used to be.

Of the people on this forum earning more than $300K (individual, not HHI), does anyone like their job and feel proud of their contribution to the world?

If so, what do YOU do? That's the job I want....

What does this mean?

Why is nearly everyone Anonymous on this site?

I'm an ex-IT Project Manager - 200k. Now I write books, nowhere near that figure yet but I'm a lot happier!
I also moved to Italy which is a lot less expensive to live in.

I am 50 and make $227,000 a year. Lawyer

My lawyer husband is 53 and makes $237,000 a year.

I guess you don't have any children? Otherwise, you wouldn't have left the US.

05:24, if you write books in English, you should remember that you do not end a sentence with a preposition.

These are odd salaries for lawyers of your age. High and low at the same time. Can't figure it out -- where do you two work?

IT guys/ladies are not known for perfect and grammatically correct writing. That is how editors stay employed.

How Demi's your DH get into that role? I am a mid-career software engineer but see limit pathes up. Do I need to transition to sales or marketing first?

He slowly moved into management. He took on lead roles, mentored others and had mentors himself plus took training classes when possible. He worked at large tech companies so it was easy to gain skills.

Sorry, this may sound dumb, but what do you mean by metro operators? You drive the metro train? Please excuse my ignorance.

Yes, we've both been metro operators for years. DH moved into the ROCC (control center) and is a controller now so that was a nice bump.

If this is true, we now know why Metro has fallen to pieces over the past 20 years!

Metro PP here. Say what you want, but I made over 100k in overtime alone last year. Not including my base salary. We work very long hours.

Wow. I should be a Metro operator!!!!

I am clearly just above the poverty line compared to everyone else on this board. 6 figures is NBD, but 250k, 500k?? What are all the late 20/30 year olds (who are not dr, lawyers) doing? TIA!

250k DH works for IT co. and I'm a teacher at a private school. Glad DH has good salary because my salary mine is low AND I just received a 0.5% COLA.
