Isn't it usually a progression though? I'm not in the industry so I don't really know how it all works but do you typically start out as an income partner and then move to equity if you get a big enough book of business to make it worth their while? I can't imagine the average 30 something has that much business to bring in unless they grew up in a very well connected family. Fwiw, my BFF is an income partner and she says she has expectations of being an equity partner someday so I assumed that was how it works. |
