Unlike those advocation for responsible gun control measures those in power opposed to abortion are constantly chipping away at women's rights by imposing insurmountable legal and regulatory barriers on providers, not to mention attempting to defund PP at the state and federal level.

The anti-choice side most certainly is trying to take away legal abortion as an option, and it is deeply ironic that they claim to do so in the name of "safety" given that legalized abortion is exceptionally safe - far safer than childbirth. A land with no legal abortion has more infanticide, more serious injuries to women, and more dead women. But you don't care about that.

It left me in awe.

Those are the happy outcomes. They don't put up pictures of the ones who did not survive.

You can see photos of the dead babies at the Pro-Life March
on Washington this Friday, JANUARY 22, if you like.

Trust? Why should anyone trust groups that feel they have to resort to blatant lies and deceptions in order to try and disparage groups like Planned Parenthood?

What "planning" for parenthood does Planned Parenthood offer? Always wondered...

Really? Birth control, both education and products. That was its original intent well before abortion was legalized. So that women could plan what size family to have and when. Spacing, affordability, etc. All that stuff people on here "still" talk about.

It also offers other medical care like certain vaccines, blood tests for cholesterol, anemia, thyroid, etc. Well-woman check ups. STD screening, PAP tests, mammograms. It has men's sexual health services, too, like vasectomies. It provides pregnancy testing and pregnancy counseling as well. And of course, abortions.

I always interpreted it as aiding parenthood that is planned.

Free if you can't pay, right? What do they require for that?

Unlike those advocation for responsible gun control measures those in power opposed to abortion are constantly chipping away at women's rights by imposing insurmountable legal and regulatory barriers on providers, not to mention attempting to defund PP at the state and federal level.

You seriously believe "those advocation for responsible gun control measures" are NOT "constantly chipping away at [gun owners] rights by imposing insurmountable legal and regulatory barriers . . . not to mention attempting [erode rights and raise costs] at the state and federal level." ??!

It is a perfect analogy.

I am pro-choice. But I am also pro-freedom, including protecting a woman's right to choose how to protect herself from rape and crime.

NP - I agree. It has always mystifies me how liberals typically are for human rights and pro-choice on most issues (abortion, gay marriage, marijuana, capital punishment, etc) but somehow are the total opposite when it comes to individual gun rights.

When I was uninsured and going to PP for my female care (annual exams and birth control prescription), there was a line on the patient information form for income. I didn't get free care, but it was substantially less expensive than it would have been at another doctor without insurance. I don't know if they ask for further information from people with a lower income than I had.

In the past 20 years it has become easier to own a gun in most states.

In those same years it is has become more challenging for women to access an abortion.
