I'm more disturbed a 13 mo old is still co sleeping in parents' bed. Cut the apron strings and move the kid to his/her own crib already.

People who live in one room house have no choice. their decision to have sex with children in the room is forced by circumstance. I doubt many if given the option to live in multiple rooms would still choose to bring their children into ed while they have sex. Few here have to deal with the confines of a one room house. You have multiple rooms, multiple beds, multiple options. What makes it odd to me is to choose the option of having sex with your children in the bed with you when you have a plethora of other options. What makes someone want to have sex with their kids in bed with them rather than sex alone in bed? What does having sex with your kids in bed with you add to your sex life?

Well I will say this. If in fact, you are having sex with your 13 month old child beside you something is WRONG with you and I do not care if you live here in a four square in Chevy Chase Village or in a yurt in Mexico.

Parents should not have sex in front of their children. Over and done. Anyone who thinks otherwise has a screw loose. It does not matter what age the child is.

I saw a documentary about a really primitive culture in some rain forest somewhere, where they all slept in one hut together. The interviewer asked how they handled sex in front of others, and they were like, "Ph God no, we don't have sex in the hut -- we do that off by ourselves in the woods." So yeah, I doubt people have been having sex in front of others for ages.

+1. Personally, it would not be so fun for me to do it with an older baby a couple of feet away, but I just don't think it's such a big deal. Not optimal, but not child abuse.
We had a large bedroom with the mattress on the floor and a small firm mat next to it where I'd nurse the baby to sleep and then roll back into my own bed. We managed.

Let's be serious, a 13 month old who still cosleeps isn't a good sleeper. Probably wakes up 6 times a night to breastfeed only to find the boob in dad's mouth.
