Am I being unreasonable? Neighbor complaints about noise - sorry long

Anonymous
OP, good for you! We had a neighbor like that and she complained non stop about us walking, talking, going to the bathroom, having guests, everything. DH is really scared to inconvenience anyone, so he started whispering at home during the day. It was ridiculous, we ended up leaving.

OP sound alike a peach. She is in complete denial. This neighbor is really going to let her have it.

With each successive self-righteous post of yours, I feel snarkier and snarkier.

Perhaps you have a similar effect on your neighbor?

And do you have rugs? I hope so, since if you don't, then I know you are not serious about noise.

Do I need rugs over carpet?

No. glad to hear your floors are covered.

NYC noise regulations include floor covering requirements because rugs and carpet absorb sound.

If the screamer is loud, go to a playground. We have a single family house and we still have the no jumping, screaming and running rule in the house. They are in activities and go to the playground for that. If she is working at home, I can't blame her. 7 AM is very early for many people. We don't get up till 8:30-9 on weekdays and sleep later on the weekends. I'd be really pissed too.

1. No.
2. You're unneighborly.
3. Deal with it.
4. You're loud, too.
5. Go ahead and call the police.

Yes?

It sounds like she had an unreasonable request and you were snarky in reply, then she got angry. So, I don't think you are innocent in this, OP.

OP is also on the defensive side in some of her comments/replies here.

She knocked on my door to complain about my family while she had the audacity to turn lights off when I went to apologize for something we were not even doing wrong. Yes I'll act defensive and sparkly. Sorry.

Based on all of your annoying and sanctimonious posts, I think you ought to be glad she didn't open the door and punch you in the throat.

I think people who are sensitive to sound should not live in buildings with shared walls.

I think people who choose to live in buildings with shared walls with small children need to be more judicious with their activities than people who live in single family homes.

We have so so so much fun you'd never believe. I have the best memories from my time as a kid building things of cardboard boxes and sliding down the stairs at home.

Were you also annoying the fuck out of your neighbors? And then posting sanctimonious bullshit on anonymous forums?

Do your memories involve giggling?

Some ppl are just that way. Knew some ppl who would bang on the walls like crazies when they felt their neighbor was being loud. He went over to talk to them and they didn't answer their door. They were strange ones. But still they struck me as folks you didn't mess with.

I'm on your side, but teach your kids not to yell unless injured.
