On my end, I disagree with
adoption
international adoption
people who say they can't cook

I also really dislike SN parents and adoptive parents! I feel like adoption/SN turns them into the kind of morons add pink inspirational email signatures and they are entitled and self absorbed.

OH this is awesome. Too good to be true. I am an internationally adoptive mom of a SN child! AND going back for #2, who will also have SNs! We must drive you crazy!

PS Maybe you are the mom who scowls at me whenever I bring my child -- who is of the same race that you are -- to an extracurricular activity which our children share. It's funny b/c your DH (who is also of that same race) is always very nice and smiles at me and at my DC, and last time even waved at her as we entered But you kept scowling at us and then pointedly put your head back down to your book to get back to your reading. We see you every week so I am sorry we will keep annoying you on a weekly basis!

ART involving egg-donation or sperm donation
single motherhood by choice by ART
same-sex parenthood by ART

Just curious: are you against all ART or just these aspects? Are you cool with single motherhood or same-sex parenthood if they don't involve ART?

yes, that is why I phrased it that way

I'm against
- indoctrinating kids in school with earth day
- circumcision
- many aspects of the welfare state
- the Catholic Church (no objection to Catholics)
- pink

The color, the brand or the artist?

So you are only for ART when there are two partners, each of whom is contributing genetic material. Got it.

As for the singles/gays/certain types of infertiles: Do you think they should adopt instead? Or not have kids?

I have a SN kid but her disorder is rare and has no national campaign for awareness. I often explain her disorder because people point it out to me because they think I am stupid or something and am not aware of it. There are a ton of stupid people out there!

See, I oppose creating modern-day ghettos by clumping affordable housing in one area. Who shodul one neioghborhood bear the responsibility for housing the entire city's poor. Put low income housing in Spring Valley!

Are you trying to kill the city's poor? Spring Valley is a Superfund site. Put them in Cleveland Park instead.

I could go on and on. I'm quite judgy, but know better than to tell people!

Ooh ooh, I am a mom who's always worked full time by choice. Do you think it's not really my choice, or that all women should SAH or WOH PT once they become parents? How totally weird.

I know it's totally your choice, that you could easily afford to stay home with your children and don't. That is why I judge. Women who truly must work to cover basic bills, I feel sorry for.

What are you judging? That my children are neglected or being raised wrong because their other parent is as equally involved? Do you think because I work by choice, I'm materialistic? Do you think only women who want to spend the majority of their time with their children should have them?

Mostly this. Obviously I don't know you personally, but many people I know "can't afford to stay home" because then they couldn't afford the country club and the X5.

But I CAN afford to stay home. I work full time by choice. I work for the intellectual stimulation, social interaction and because I'd be bored shitless at home. We save 80% of my salary. So what's your objection, since I fully admit we don't need me to work for financial reasons?

Like what about people with different colored eyes? Blondes and brunettes? What's the arbitrary line based on looks that you disapprove of?

My reason: watering down of cultural identity. Has nothing to do with looks (whatever that means).

You mean, like Italians marrying Irish?

Yes, that is correct. B/c, otherwise, it seems like you are manufacturing a human for your own purposes, which seems kind of Orwellian. Yuck.

I mean what I wrote. I don't have to constantly justify my position to you so either take it at face value or move along.
