Because engaging in it would require you to do some real thinking, no doubt. |
Ha ha, good one. As if anyone on this thread is doing actual thinking. |
Except for maybe 6:58. |
Burgundy Farm's admissions are "need blind" but I don't think the school has many working class families. For one thing, I am not sure that they target that market nor am I sure how they would do so if they so wished. The neighborhoods surrounding the school are predominantly working class and are fully aware of the school, if for no other reason, because of the long line of cars coming through at carpool time. |
So do you seriously want the elite (those kids in private schools) to grow up with no direct experience of working class people except those that they see on the 30s buses every day coming out to raise kids and clean houses? It's not a problem for me because my kid was in public school for 9 years and has known and hung out with all kinds of folks but I'd like some of her school mates who haven't been so fortunate as my dd (and I mean fortunate) to at least go to school with one working class kid. |
That's why I hate metro D.C. Full of selfish, 'all about me' parents raising kids to hold these un-values. I'd like to know, Which schools attract parents who are exact opposite of this???? |
RE: Burgundy admitting 'need blind'--all schools claim this, most schools don't. If that were the case, they would not survive. Do they not ask parental occupations on Burgundy's application? Or addresses? Easy to tell who will 'need' and 'not need' without asking if FA is needed. |
