That would change the sport considerably. Only one medalist this year was over 21 (Kaori, and this is her third Olympics at 25), and only one US skater was over 21. |
Yeah, Johnny is only a 3-time US champion, 2-time Olympian, and world bronze medalist. Chump.

Don't worry I am sure PP has accomplished a lot more than that and is not a total loser |
For Olympic sport commentators, they are actually still pretty new and young. Most of them stick around for decades and go well into their 60s. |
I love Ato Boldon! We watch a lot of track and it's always better when he is commentating. I also think Tara and Johnny do a very good job, and really you mostly hear them rather than see them. |
There are better skaters out there who can critique. He had his turn. Next. |
Like who? |
Nathan Chen, Charlie White to name two. I think it would be good to add a more current ice dancer because it's so different from the other events and harder for audiences to follow with such subjective scoring. |
Lol |
They make the whole thing about themselves. |

It's the coats and warm layers --- its winter olympics - duh!
And kids stuff for 30 days. Yup. In her shoes, I would have probably taken more. |
+1 I love his insight and comments, and Tara does a nice job explaining technical things. They make a nice team, not too intrusive or too much, and I feel they add to my watching experience. I don't find them mean or catty at all. |
NBC had a more current ice dancer, Olympic champion Gabriella Papadakis, commentating all Fall, but shamefully fired her before the Olympics after her book came out with uncomfortable truths for the powers that be. Nathan Chen is up to his eyeballs in schoolwork before he begins medical school. |
Charlie White was commentating and was a good one. His wife, Tanith Belbin, was also a commentator and was excellent. They are now both coaches and no longer commentating. I really enjoyed Tracy Wilson’s commentary. I also think Johnny is a better commentator when he is not paired with Tara. He doesn’t talk over the music or talk about himself quite as much when he’s commentating Ice Dance. |
Nathan Chen was in Milan. |
