Yes! They would be amazing together!

I feel now she focuses overly on the technique when her technique wasn't very good as a figure skater. She could land the jumps, but they weren't very high and she skated like she was still on roller skates which is where she started her career.

I feel she gives off teen vibes and she is living the childhood she didn't have because she was so busy skating....she comes across as very superficial to me.

I miss the days when Dick Button and Paul Hamilton did the commentary, they were more insightful and intelligent in their assessments.

I’m guessing you are over 60 with your reference to Dick Button (who is deceased and stopped Olympic commentary in 2010). This happens in every sport, there comes a time where the older commentators retire to make way for more recently retired athletes who have more insight into the current state of the sport and are more recognizable names to the audience. Tara and Johnny do a great job.

+1. Dick Button and *SCOTT* Hamilton obviously contributed a lot to this sport, but they are from different eras. Tara and Jonny are closer to understanding the expectations and pressures of this era, but even they weren’t part of the quad era. That said, Tara set the tone for triple-triple jump combinations being an expectation, not just a possibility, for women. And Jonny was a pioneer on the artistic/component side for the men, paving the way for Jason Brown.

How long until Tara and Jonny are replaced by younger former skaters?

Ashley Wagner and Adam Rippon are nipping at their heels.

I would tune in for them.

I muted Tara and Jonny a lot this time around.

Yeah, not really into their “show”. They make it too much about them, their outfits, etc. Don’t care.

Omg so much about themselves. It's really disrespectful to those competing.

Lipinsky was actually 15 when she won the Olympics. She didn’t give them much of a “reason” to raise the age limit very much in that era, since Sarah Hughes was only 16 when she won the Olympics 4 years later.

I love her and Weir and look forward to their commentary every time because they really know what they are talking about, are very specific in their remarks (much more so than Hamilton imo) AND are fun to listen to and look at. Weir sometimes is a little bit blunt about such and such skater lacking artistry, being too wooden, but there is respect for the effort always.

I found Tara to be a smart a$$ much of the time.

That one was funny! Comments like that remind me of Joan Rivers.

At least Tara has an Olympic medal. Johnny has none.

lol I am sure if you had the opportunity to commentate, which obviously you never would, and the network was like, we love the cattiness and humor- keep it going! You would be like: no! That's bad for the sport and unfair I have too much integrity!!! And walk away without the biggest money maker that's come to you in decades.

He has skating and competition experience, plus he is intelligent and knowledgeable about the sport both present and past, and a true enthusiast. I'm actually so surprised by the criticism because they don't make it about themselves much at all aside from showing up looking their best fashion-forward selves, which we only see for very little time as the focus is typically on the skating.

We’ve had to listen to the schtick for years now. Maybe it’s time to freshen it up with more current ex-skaters with different insights.

She is there a long time. It is winter so clothes are bigger. My guess is that she has multiple winter coats. She is a tiny thing. If I needed multiple outfits (including shoes and coats) that didn't repeat, I'd probably need double the number of suitcases.
