He is just in the receiving end of the tabloid drama that is in many ways controlled by the royal family.
But you are right, they are trashy and always have been. Even Charles said to his wife ‘Did you think I was going to be the first Prince of Wales to not have a mistress?’

He accused William of shoving him. Accused Kate of not wanting to hug or share lip gloss with Meghan, and also of “making Meghan cry” and they accused some unnamed person of asking about the baby’s skin color.

Well, none of it's exactly a hanging offense is it?

Of course not. But he’s definitely airing dirty laundry, and doing so intentionally. Surely you can see where this would create distrust?

Yes, however, if I were his parent, nothing in there would keep me from establishing a relationship with his children. All the more if I think is wife is a bit off. What's missing seems to be the warmth and caring towards him and his children, which is made all the more sad because he lost his mother so young and was so vulnerable, in a way Will wasn't as an older kid.

DP. +1. Apparently it was Kate who made Meghan cry over the bridesmaids' dresses, although someone on the Waleses' team leaked to the public that Meghan made Kate cry. Harry found Meghan on the kitchen floor in tears and Kate came around with flowers and an apology the next day. So when KP went out in public to lie about something the Sussexes hadn't spilled publicly, surely the Sussexes are entitled to set the public record straight.

Harry has said a few times that he left 400 pages of Spare on the cutting room floor because they were too incendiary. Part of me wants him to publish them after Charles dies, especially if William continues to be a complete jerk to the Sussexes and to manipulate the British press against them.

Meghan sounded like a bridezilla though.

Uh huh. Is that what you read on that hate sub?

This thread is about what the British royals should do about Andrew, and whether they're shielding them. It's not another of your "I hate Meghan" threads that you can twist to divert attention from Andrew. Try to focus.

Actually it's just about British Royals. Is Meghan one or not? If she is then she's fair game.

She’s not. So let’s focus on the real royals.

Isn't she still styled as the Duchess of Sussex? I'm certain that's how she has asked to be credited on her Netflix Show. Is that just her stage name?

On her Netflix show (which I didn't love but didn't hate) she said to call her Megan Sussex as that was the last name their family uses.

Kate has a very carefully curated public image so it's hard to find fault with her. She's milquetoast. I think people forget how she was raked through the press as Waity Katie and for her "common" roots, before she was married. I'm old enough to remember the stories of William's school friends saying "doors to manual" when Kate entered a room bc her mom used to be a flight attendant. Who knows if that's true, but that's what Kate got picked on for.

Now you don't really see anything but a thin, polished, restrained middle aged woman. There's just not that much material there people!

Oh that was the Mindy Kaling episode- I had honestly forgotten about that.

Yeah I watched some of the show and didn't love it, but didn't hate it.

Why even try at this point.

I haven't seen any posts that are worthy of reporting?

If you've hung out on this board for any time at all, you'll know that all threads about the royals eventually get locked because of the way posters talk about Meghan.

No, because of the way a scant few women flip out against any critique of Meghan Markle, whereas any other public figure is fair game.

My favorite is when the rabid anti-Meghan crowd starts posting like they're posh Brits.

Your dimwit vocab is your issue, among all of your other problems.

Regarding Fergie - she has enjoyed the benefit of the doubt because she crybabied about Duchess of Pork and her divorcee in-law issues, never having the charm to accept that her own rank choices were her fault. Andrew Lownie’s expose Entitled (about the Yorks) is getting some fresh material included in the paperback release. The “shagging weekend” email she wrote to Epstein has decimated the fantasy Sarah had tried to sell, that she took pride in her excellent mothering to her daughters. She is a disgusting, greedy monster all on her own. She and Andrew were definitely meant to be and the Queen’s failure to corral her son permanently damages the limited good she managed to accomplish.

DP. You'll get no Fergie-love from me. But as a few others here have said, it's the women (Fergie and Meghan), and not the actual pedo and trafficker (Andrew), who are the target of your ire. This poster devoted a full para to bashing Fergie as a "disgusting, greedy monster." And this poster, or someone else, is trying to spin this thread into yet another anti-Meghan hate train. While the actual pedo, Andrew is being painted here as some sad-sack old fogey who's too vulnerable to be sent out to a flat of his own. Can you see the problem?

As for calling pp a dimwit, Kate's fangirls are very Klassy

You're so cute! Throwing a tantrum because you can't control the dialogue.

Nope. I'm commenting on your dialogue. Specifically, on your misogynistic take on women vs. men.

It's a fact: you're ignoring the actual pedo so you can hate on two women. Prove me wrong.

Is anyone ignoring the Andrew thing? I think he's universally despised. The thread was about royals and their spouses- it's the very first post. I don't think we are required to discuss any one of them in particular.

There hasn't been a peep about Camilla, my how far she has come from the so-called third woman in Princess Diana's marriage.

Ah yes, we've entered the phase where we pretend that the way that Kate was treated is in any way equivalent to the irrational hatred that Meghan gets. Next up: "But I didn't even realize that Meghan is black!!!"

Some British commentators are saying the royal family is in peril unless they do something meaningful about Andrew. For example, Amanda Platell had a column recently where she accused Will and Kate of barely working, and when they do work, it's fatuous stuff about hugging trees. Tell that to the single mom in a high-rise struggling to put food on the table, Platell said.

Thoughts?

The royal family has been in peril for centuries. It’s part of the intrigue.

Nobody said it was the same. I think Meagan is actually the one who said "rude is different than racist." With Kate, the press was classist. I think they also picked on her Uncle Gary- he's an odd duck.

Why do you have such a chip on your shoulder about this, btw?

+1. And again, in peril of what? The country stops paying them so they go live in their mansions at Sandringham that are privately owned and live off the income from the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall? Oh whatever will they do???

They could always parlay their fake into a cooking show. Kate cooks what Charles grows on his estate! I would be in for at least one episode.

What about Beatrice and Eugenie's husbands? Does anyone actually know anything about them? Are they trashy? Classy? Sassy?
Anonymous
Every family has some trashy people that embarrass the rest. William and Kate seem normal.

Why do you even have to bring Meghan up? Is it possible for you to NOT view Kate’s entire existence as a comparison to Meghan? Try it!

One literally cavorts with pedophiles and the other is outspoken & biracial. It's crazy to see the dissonance.

Fergie is just lucky DCUM didn't exist during her toe-sucking days.

For me, her getting her toe sucked is the best thing she ever did. Sulking in an e-mail to Jeffrey Epstein of all people about why he doesn't love her anymore just seemed sad.

Of course he was using you to get to Andrew. That's who he was: a narcissistic user.

I think it's ironic that it always seemed Charles and Di were the most dysfunctional, but this Fergie/Andrew stuff will obviously end up much worse. I think we only know the tip of the iceberg.
