Anecdotal, but I'm hearing the ED results are worse this year across the board.

Really? Everyone at my kids public is getting into to first choice Ed’s. Three to Harvard. Stanford. Two to Yale. Three to Princeton. Columbia. Duke. Vanderbilt. Dartmouth. A ton to Cornell, although that’s admitted not that hard. (Is Cornell a legit ivy? I think not! Ha. Ha.). Our kids are killing it.

Nonsense, unhooked with average stats do not get into either school.

Noticed this at our private too, though. For Midd, not CMU.

Noticed what?

PP was dismissive of another poster who observed unhooked kids with average stats being admitted to Midd or CMU from their school, claiming this never happens. I was saying I noticed that this does happen with Midd, as I've seen it with kids at our school. I haven't seen this with CMU, though. Not that many get into CMU from our school, and they're all high-stats.

Has anyone heard from Harvard ED? It says mid December.

Demographic cliff is next year, class of 2027.

There is no cliff, it’s a gradual decline over six years that takes us back to 2012 numbers. Internationals will be back in three.

The internationals haven't left for the schools being discussed on this thread. Sure we may see less international students at Frostburg State or Western Connecticut, but Princeton, I don’t think so.

Nice try. 🙄 Many of these schools are not even out yet.

What would you consider “average” stats. From our school Midd is a very hard admit, nobody is ever taken without the highest stats unless they are an athlete. CMU isn’t nearly as hard as Midd but in both cases “average” students just don’t get in.

Guess what?
Other high schools might be different.

A lot of these schools are not out yet. In fact, only Stanford and Princeton on that list. So these must be mostly all Quest bridge which is not a useful comparison - totally different criteria and most kids are not eligible.

The results so far have been generally abysmal.

And your data showing that is what? It has been at selective schools for the last decade.

It's not true at our school according to Naviance data. Midd only takes high stat kids.

Seems bad but I am not sure what it is like most years. Maybe it is always like this.
