What’s it going to be like living in a dictatorship?

Or authoritarian government or wherever we’re headed? What will it be like for our kids who are in middle school right now? What will their futures look like? FWIW we are white. My younger brother (34) is gay. My mom relies on a pension. We have various friends who are Jewish, black, deaf, autistic, LGBTQ. I’m really sad and scared about where we’re clearly headed. Will we be able to find happiness and livelihood? Travel? Express ourselves?

ICE tickets Chicago man with legal residency $130 for not having his papers on him: ‘It’s not fair…I’m a resident’

Proof?

Np. I’m curious what you’re looking for in proof? Many multiple news outlets are reporting it (easy to google). Do I know it’s true. Well I didn’t watch ICE ticket the man and get a photo of the ticket myself. But it’s so widely reported by major, typically reliable sources - and because any reporter worth their salt would do things like speak to witnesses and photograph the ticket - that I’m inclined to believe this happened. When you read an article how do you fact check it and confirm it?

Why are you responding to a troll who wants proof when someone literally posted a local news source with her claim?

MAGA and bots say that as a knee jerk reaction and ignore it. It’s such a weak comeback, she didn’t notice it was right in front of her face.

Prior poster - yeah. Realized that right after I responded. Lesson learned. So easy to Google a photo of the ticket too. Thanks.

Stop. There will be. But it will be a HUGE lift because Democrats are going to have to over perform six points just to break even.

So start find a group to volunteer with that registers voters in swing states now. Fund them as well.

There was a special election in AZ- yet to be recognized. Why should we think midterms in 2026 will be different?

Well, that’s to protect the Trumpstein files from being released.

I see a lot of people fear mongering about this. Please list how you have been directly impacted by any of the so call dictatorship or authoritarian gov up to this point?

DP, but since you have asked...

I have been asked for papers.
I have been held up in "check points"
I have friends and families who have list their jobs from illegal firings

I am a white, native born American.

So assuming you are telling the truth you have been inconvenienced twice and experienced something a lot of people go through having friends or family members be let go from a job?

It's the "illegally" part that's the problem. They aren't following the constitution. This is a threat to anyone who expects due process or freedom of speech moving forward. Making up a phantom menace in Antifa impacts all of us.

Show where these things are unconstitutional.

The Federal firings were done illegally. There was a legal way to RIF federal employees. The Trump administration didn't bother following it. The courts affirmed this.

What’s your point?

Are you saying that in 14 months Johnson will all of a sudden respect the constitution?

The point is that the main motivation for not swearing in a duly elected official is to protect pedos. That’s how desperate they are. The midterms are over a year away and will be a completely different animal.

Trump: "Don't forget I can use the Insurrection Act. 50% of the presidents almost have used that. And that's unquestioned power."

1) no, 50% of the presidents did not invoke the insurrection act

2) there has to be some sort of insurrection to invoke it

Maybe we will have clean streets and parks and playgrounds in Washington and SF devoid of liquor bottles, used Jimmy hats and hobos who stink of shit.

If you want to restore funding for mental illness and drug and alcohol abuse to pre-Reagan levels, then yes, we can have these things.

Just "clearing them out" does not solve the issue.

The bolded was obvious from the rest of your self-indulgent post.

Why? I’m just being honest about who I am. Are you scared and worried or not?

I’ve been scared and worried for many years, long before Trump. The fact you haven’t been says a lot.

DP- ok, it does. But you are being divisive and smug. “I always felt this. I knew it all along.”

It’s not an effective, “welcome to my world.”

It plays right into divide and conquer strategies.

I think PP would be fine with camps.
