As a Democrat who is terrified that we have reached a tipping point when it comes to the rule of law and our democracy, I’m praying that perhaps the Republicans will finally reach their tipping point and start pushing back since one of their own is impacted.

The Republicans hate Comey as well. Comey managed to make enemies of practically everyone in washington.

It’s not about blaming democrats or accusing Dems of doing it first. It’s about that any entity did it first. Once you do it or demand it or make it ok, you make it ok for others, not just your side. It’s about setting precedent. Once something is done once it’s easier to do the subsequent times.

Democrats are getting blamed for doing it first because they did it first. But it’s truly about precedent.

They didn't. That's just a MAGA talking point to justify what they're doing. But even if it was true, it still doesn't justify what Trump is doing. Apparently this "your side did it" is convincing to people who are on the various sides. But I'm not a democrat or a republican, so it doesn't convince me at all. You need to justify your prosecution in terms of the evidence and the law. Trump cannot do that in this case, and has all but admitted he's doing it to get back at Comey.
