Same

Same.

I've moved from religious to areligious to agnostic to atheist.

May God have mercy on your soul. Amen.

God has mercy on all our souls.

We are all sinners and in need of mercy.

God loves everyone.

God's love

It's nothing more then the same love from an abusive boyfriend. One who dictates what the rules are and gets angry and punishes you for acting against his will.

I reject such a relationship.

May God change your heart. May he release the stronghold your abuser has on your life. May he give you strength to move past darkness and live life in His glory and light. May you find forgiveness of yourself and choose to see His true love for what it is. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You misunderstand the previous poster's point. Religion IS the abuser and its accompanying belief systems. This also does not include the very believers who are abusive to non-believers.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they misunderstood at all. This is how christians believe, and how they respond to anyone NOT believing in their abusive relationship-the one they don't know is abusive, deny is abusive, and rationalize with every fiber of their being because that is truly the power of indoctrination into a belief system that is so harmful. It is sad and we should put effort into stopping this psychological process that destroys so many.

Platitudes are a sophist’s game. Hell is empty and the devils are here. See how that works.

All Christians don't persecute everyone, but I agree, all are indoctrinated into an abusive belief system

May god open your heart to others. You seem very closed and dogmatic- not Christian at all.

Agree, but what is being Christian? Some Christians are very closed and dogmatic -- like the killer in Minnesota.

Sounds like you've become firmer in your non-belief, but really areligious means the same as atheist. "Areligious" just sounds better.
