I agree with you OP. It’s still kind boggling to me. But yes, it’s true.

The big "it"? Or which part? Every part? Many Christians believe different and contradictory things.

Sounds like you don't understand how faith works.

Also, which version of Christianity is the true version? Catholic? Protestant? Orthodox?
Calvinist? Presbyterian? Methodist?

Religion has been mostly detrimental to humankind: in addition to keeping the masses dumb and delusional, it’s caused too many wars. Just look at Gaza.

+1. It’s like, “don’t worry that you’re poor, miserable, destitute and pay a lot of what you earn in taxes to us; a better life awaits you after death.” No, it does not.

For most people, nonexistence better than life. We cling to life only due to fear.

The closer you are to death, the smarter it is to bet on Heaven.

Feel free to delete the atheists posts, then, boss.

Of course it is. It's for everyone. Especially when you title something as vaguely as this thread.

Yes which one OP?

Which one will Trump pick as the National religion? It will only be one.

The title of this post was a 'hook' to get people to click in and read what it's about. I usually ignore the religion forum because, while I'm not an atheist, don't like organized religion. Keep your thoughts to yourself.

Funny, as I've gotten older, I've found that most of the Bible is stuff made up by men to control people, as most religions do. I believe Jesus was real, and His teachings in the Bible is what is true. The rest of it is .. eh.. some guys who wrote a bunch of do's and don'ts based on their interpretation of Jesus' teachings.

Who are you to judge OP’s understanding of faith?

I've been a Christian for pretty much all my life too however the older I get the more I feel like I'm left alone and why would God want to punish me and make me suffer so much? I struggle with this every.second.of.the.day I'm still praying but feel abandoned by everyone.

It's not true.

NP. You both have different definitions of the word true, is all.

I think you can only speak for yourself.

God does not want to punish you. God does not exist. God was neither treating you well nor treating you poorly. A being who does not exist, like God, cannot not punish you and cannot do good things for you either.
