Incels.

May be the White young men - my young men are anything but right-wing. I am worried about how much stress they are under now based on what America has turned into to in 3 months!

Not my white sons. Not right wing by a long shot. Nor are their friends of any race or color or gender or sexual orientation or religion.

Anonymous wrote:The cool kids are MAGA. The early 20s ones even wear the hats, in fact, I've seen them wear them abroad. This makes a lot of sense because being young is about questioning the dominant culture, questioning your parents (who tend to look at Trump in the same way 50s parents looked at Elvis's dance moves), and reacting in a way to correct for society's past mistakes. Whether the left is right or wrong, they are incredibly consistent and ubiquitous in their messaging, so it was predictable that the youth would turn MAGA.

LMAO nope. Everyone looks at you people wearing your cheap-ass Chinese made red MAGA hats and sees ignorant, self-centered dorks, it's complete cringe - the farthest thing from cool. Cool isn't gonna come from a senile, octogenarian boomer. And wanting to go back to some notion of an imaginary 1950s that MAGAs want isn't in the remotest in being forward thinking. No matter how much you want it, "cool" is never happening for you.

It's true that the 40+ crowd sees MAGA hats as cringe. But I'm telling you what I am observing. I'm seeing 20s white kids walking around clubs in MAGA hats like a fashion statement.

The 20 somethings see them as cringe too.

Don't know where that PP is hanging out, but I've not seen a single red hat at any of my kids' three schools (high schools or colleges). It's absolutely cringe.

But according to the PP the “cool kids” are wearing the red hat. 🙄

Hate to say it, but I think OP is right. Go to any Lacrosse game, private golf course, Top Fraternity on an SEC campus, Country club - places with rich young people - and the MAGAs are everywhere - easy to spot even without the hats. There is a definite look - think Charleston, SC - Blonde (or at the very least, good hair) , white (yet tan), Preppy/bright very put together outfits, Louis Vuitton bags, cross around their neck...forget the hat - what I just described is the MAGA uniform. This segment is growing fast.

Those are not cool kids, dummy.

Your cartoonish description isn't quite right. Most of these young people are totally for universal health care, the environment, fair taxation, a safety net, LGBTQ rights and all the other things liberals used to care about. But progressives have successfully demonized young white people in particular. It's not surprising young people have turned against Democrats. Soy-boys is what they call progressive males. Among young people, there is no respect for progressives. Progressives seem to hate straight umc white kids, and that hate is returned in kind. It's stupid. And it's sad. But good lord, progressives have done an unbelievable amount of damage and they are losing an entire generation.

This just isn't true (unless you are lying to your kids and letting them read lies, which I hope you aren't).

They went to schools where every single book they read from K-12 was about minority oppression. My son went to DCPS and he literally did not read a book from K-8 that wasn't focused on the bad white man. Every choice on every summer reading list, etc.

The natural result is to rebel against this.

Look, many of our kids also went to DCPS, so we know you are lying. Unless what you are saying is your kid chose not to read at all.

Actually, the opposite is true:

“A new national youth poll released on April 23 by the Institute of Politics found that 59 percent of men between the ages of 18 and 29 disapprove of Trump. Additionally, 47 percent of them say that he’ll hurt the economy, and 40 percent say they are worse off under the current administration compared to the Biden era”

Some kids at my DS’ school wear them bit they all lean heavily toward the non neurotypical and the many seem a bit Red Hat, definitely not cool. Happy well adjusted and included young people don’t tend to be Trumpers.

Seems fishy. I find it hard to believe that anyone in the US classified as gen z ever had a flip phone.

Let me introduced you to my kids. Now college age. We’re give. A flip phone with out numbers programmed in until the turned 12.

My younger Genx daughter admitted she had a dream (the sleeping kind) that she assassinated Trump.
