You can't be serious. Why would a teacher risk their safety for some nonsense. And what did you expect the studrnt body to do? You want more kids stabbed. I tell my kids anytime there is an altercation, be it verbal or physical there is a high likelihood someone has a weapon. Do NOT get involved. I also live by this. I think the teacher did the right thing. |
I was born in 1973. No cell phones or social media. Fights happened in school. I never saw a stabbing in mine but there where some in others. We didn't have a gun problem then, in schools. It wasnt FCPS. It was indiana. But your comment makes no sense. What are you blabbing about? |
Regardless of what you think about the Fairfax JDC, the kid will be going to juvenile jail and not an FCPS school. |
At the time the teacher walked by there was no stabbing going on. Have you even watched the video? I expect a teacher to say "hey, knock it off" and to tell the other students to stop congregating and disperse or at minimum immediately contact an SRO. There is no time of the essence in anyone. So is it Fairfax policy to just snap a photo and casually keep walking? When your child is in FCPS building the school system is responsible for them. A teacher or administrator is a part of that. I don't expect anyone to jump into a knife fight so GTFOH with that angle. I do expect the adults to be adults. This lord of the flies attitude is insane. |
Agree with 1973 poster. Kids started this fight and a kid stabbed another. Cell phones and the videos here will help to hold those who need to be accountable and perhaps can be used to change policies if they need to be changed so clear to parents what to expect to happen in such instances. |
Not a good luck for the individual who snaps a photo and then strolls on- even slows his pace down. You don’t see him quicken his pace. You don’t see him yell out. You don’t see him get on his phone. It plays out as if he sees a fight every day and every hour all school year so it’s not interesting. |
Look not luck |
| Another white Christian make how glorious for the US remaking the country in the eyes of this utter shit. |
You all should watch Adolescence on Netflix and check out the portrayal of a small town UK school. |

| That teacher needs to be canned. |
Video news showed that I saw don’t have sound and blurred the kids. Were they really wearing bible verses on shirts or reciting bible verses while stabbing or how know this? I haven’t seen it released that this was religious hate crime. Has Fairfax Coubty said that now? |
PP who paraphrased Reid’s now infamous comments that “lunch must go on” - considering that during a normal school day students just walk out/skip/leave without consequences (I’m a former FCPS sub/itinerant and FCPS parent) what’s to prevent a few or multiple students just walking out? I heard a WMAL clip where a father was instructing his DD to leave via a side door. Also am curious to know what exactly was going on post stabbing (circa 930) to let’s say noon. What announcements were made to the students? Did they change classes? If ALL 4 LUNCHES WERE SERVED does this mean that ALL INSTRUCTION CONTINUED? And, I’m sorry but those students were likely traumatized and terrified - was “learning” really continuing as the media staging area was being set up? Was the actual crime scene cleaned? Blocked from view? Did students en route to lunch have to walk through the hallway where the stabbing occurred? |
Intervene and get punched, jumped, kicked, or stabbed!? I don’t think so. I’m going to follow the protocol and make sure I make it home to my family. |
You posted this already. I have watched Adolescence and it doesn't have anything to do with this. From what I heard from my kids, the fight was over a hat. The kid that got stabbed started the fight by taking the hat from the kid who became the stabber. So they started fighting. A third kid (apparently the friend of the stabber) also got involved. The video also shows the three of them fighting in front of a large office window in addition to the teacher who walks by. So several adults were well aware of this fight and kids just standing around filming, laughing, etc. Eventually after a few minutes an SRO arrived and broke up the fight. Then after that the kid whose hat was taken comes back to the instigator with a knife and starts stabbing him. Kid falls on his back on the floor and is bleeding everywhere. An adult arrives, stands over the bleeding kid yelling "ambulance" without it being clear who he's directing this instruction. No one actually approaches this kid on the floor to try to stop the bleeding whatsoever, which to me is inexcusable. The fight is over, a child is on the ground with stab wounds. I also saw the video of the stabbing in Bradlee a few years ago, the police officer who was actually there immediately tried to help the victim and render first aid. But in FCPS (and according to several posters on this thread), it is perfectly find to not GAF and not get involved with a stabbed kid. A victim does not need to be likable to be a victim. He is 16. WTAH is wrong with all of you. |
