Notably absent here, where there is an exclusive focus on the collateral damage inflicted on civilians when Hamas could end such damage immediately. They don't want to. It's in their self-interests that more of their fellow civilians die. From their evil perspective, it's all good public relations, civilian deaths be damned. Hiding unsuccessfully behind and among civilians also is not helpful if the goal is a reduction in noncombatant casualties, but that's a another Hamas policy choice.

Clear thinking does not involve moaning about civilians, it focuses on why they are dying. They are dying because Hamas is holding hostages and won't surrender, apparently no matter how many civilians die.

+1

Pure deflection. Those aid workers did not die because Hamas is holding hostages. They died because Israeli troops decided to murder a bunch of aid workers driving an ambulance with its lights on, and then tried to cover up their murder with a bulldozer.

If you think Oct 7 justifies everything Israel could possibly do to other humans, regardless of their culpability for what happened that day, then I feel sorry for you. But don’t think the rest of the world has the same blinders on.

Israel is isolating itself to the point that it is cozying to the anit-semitic right wing parties in Europe.

And why are aid workers there in the first place? Why is the IDF reducing Gaza further into the Stone Age? I guess the hostages and Hamas military activity are completely unrelated as root causes.

You're try to focus attention on consequences, avoiding reasons. If there were no reason for hostilities in Gaza, the consequences would not exist.

Release the hostages, surrender.

“Root causes” 🙄

Do you really think Oct 7 justifies incinerating all of Gaza and everyone within its borders?

As I said, if you do I feel bad for you but don’t expect anyone else to agree with you. If you don’t think about why not and where murdering aid workers falls.

Their loss is the direct result of Hamas intransigence, prolonging the conflict needlessly.

Release the hostages. Surrender.

Meanwhile Bibi will go down in history with Pol Pot.

No, I mean you are a disingenuous clown who spews propaganda because every sentient being within a hundred miles of reality knows that a) lying is the Israeli national pastime and that b) releasing the hostages and surrendering would do nothing to end the conflict because Israel will simply move the goal posts.

That movie has been on replay for decades, dumb dumb. Did you really think you can persist with the propaganda in 2025?

As opposed a clown who refuses to concede the Palestinian situation is self-inflicted even though that's so obvious? As opposed to someone who is incapable of acknowledging Palestinian criminality in the form of Hamas? As opposed to someone who can't admit that hostage taking, not to mention rape and murder, is obscene, never justified, and the reason for the conflict? No, it's all due to that nakba thing 77 years ago which happened because the Palestinians wouldn't accept a country of their own if it meant the Jews got one too, so they attacked the new State of Israel, got crushed, kept trying over the years, kept getting crushed, tried again on Oct 7, and are still being crushed, but that's too difficult to accept, isn't it? Give up. Surrender. Release the hostages. Or keep doing the same thing and sit there in your keffiyeh, safely behind your keyboard in the U.S., wondering why the Palestinians seem to get no sympathy and keep dying.

And the idea that they may as well not release the hostages because that won't end the conflict? Was there fighting on Oct 6? Were 50K Palestinians wiped out on Oct 6? Never mind, let's keep holding hostages because there can't possibly be any relationship between that and Israeli military action, which is apparently being undertaken because the IDF has nothing better to do. Who cares if we lose another 50K, or 100K more noncombatants? No point in any critical self-examination as to why the sky is falling on our heads, that's a waste of time. And, if we do think about it, let's not think about our hostage-taking, which is surely unrelated. Let's just keep doing what we're doing. That'll make things better, for sure. Brilliant reasoning.

You mean the land lost during the Israeli War of Independence after the Arab countries attacked rather than accept separate Arab and Jewish countries? Can you say "self-inflicted"?

I’m not that PP but I think they were probably referring to Palestinian lands within the green line.

Hard to know; the Palestinians and other Arabs frequently lost land after attacking Israel: War of Independence in 1948, the 1956 Suez Crisis when Israel occupied Gaza and most of the peninsula east of the Suez Canal, the 6-Day War in 1967 when the Syrians lost the Golan Heights and Israel took control of Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula, and drove Jordanian forces from the West Bank, the Yom Kippur Way of 1973, the 1982 Lebanon War when Israel reached the outskirts of Beirut to force the PLO to withdraw. Second verse, same as the first, every time.

And then what? That’s the question that Israel and the World won’t answer. I’m not supporting Hamas, but the Palestinian people live in poverty. They live under Israeli control and have for 50 years. They have no right of return, no right to their own borders or airspace.

Yes the Israeli hostages should be returned. And Yes everyone should formally recognize the independent state of Palenstine.

An independent state is a nonstarter while Hamas holds hostages, don't you think? The Palestinians hardly do themselves any favors: divert billions over decades in foreign aid to build military infrastructure, tolerate a corrupt government, happily accept Iranian support and let Iran be their puppet master to develop a military capability to use to attack Israel, and fail to build any kind of civil society in 77 years while Israel has blossomed from nothing to a first world country with a modern economy and pluralistic government. Israel made peace with Egypt and Jordan. The Gazans, in contrast, attacked on Oct 7.

Gaza is one giant self-inflicted festering wound which will not heal until the Palestinians commit to peace instead of devoting themselves to nurturing grievances forever, which they try to satisfy through terror over and over again, inevitably coming out much worse than before.

So many more Americans are waking up to the realization that we've been fed a lie abut Israel's narrative. People that have never been interested in the subject before are waking up and learning.

The rest of the world already knows. PP can keep going on and on about the hostages but more Americans now understand that they are a small part of the larger narrative. Israel and their zionist minions can't keep up with their lies. The truth is too evident.
