The higher yield is due to guranteed nature? Kids don't apply to any others, just straight-up transfer. The lower yield is because if they want a transfer they usually have multiple options? |
I would argue that Cornell’s transfer rate is much lower than that if you do not have a transfer option. There’s no way to parse out which transfer applicants were applying the with the TO application or the regular transfer application. Yes, students given a transfer option actually apply again. All students are told that having a TO is not a guaranteed admission. The application is pretty low key and doesn’t require a fee, essays or letters. But it is an application. |
I agree. I think Brown is depressing (New England weather) but people love it for its grade inflation. |
The other day someone posted a link to Cornell admissions. For CALS it's 12%. Hotel 22%. |
Brown is impossible to get in these days, especially for girls. Grade inflation does make a huge difference. |
You might be right. But there is a difference between IS and OOS. |
Not for Nolan. It is not a land grant school at Cornell. |
What is the difference in acceptance rates between IS and OOS? Earlier you mentioned that Cornell "[admits] the most competitive and compelling candidates regardless of residency." So no advantage for in-state admissions-wise? |
You are arguing for Emory with a losing hand. A bit of research would set you straight. |
For clarification, I was the first to post this, as a quotation of stated policy. Here is the information in context, directly from Cornell. How competitive/selective is the undergraduate admissions process if I apply to the Cornell Human Ecology? How does being a New York State resident impact the process? - Frequently Asked Questions https://share.google/uAw9FwmM9UbhvSXWS |

Can you use a regular link?

Now compare that to Emory's Oxford campus. 13% with 1500 test avg. |
|
Emory is test optional with 43% submitting SAT and 20% submitting ACT. Plus they take/enroll over 60% via ED
Cornell is now test required and they started to take less from ED couple of years ago. |
Recent events aside, Brown is incredibly charming and the location in an upscale, leafy low-rise urban neighborhood is convenient. |
