Since U13 we have first teams at MLSN1, and now second teams will join MLSN2.

Haha he’s telling that to the BY parents so they can sleep at night

It is just hard to imagine MLS will keep BY for MLSN and SY for MLS2, esp. they try to copy ECNL NL and RL system, which you can move players around.

Why would MLSN want to copy ECNL the lower league?

Also, where is it announced by MLSN and the MLSN2 administrators for the different regions that SY is happening?

💯

PP has no idea what’s going on between MLSN and ECNL. MLS is not worried about ECNL, ECNL’s boys side is getting eaten alive by MLSN. And MLSN is about to start comh for the girls side

ECNL is going to get crushed when colleges start dropping their soccer programs due to money.

Let me guess you are a BY parent…upset about the age change because your kid will no longer be the oldest…

They also wish MLSN will stay in BY, but it does not look like after it rebrand EA to MLS2. So MLS + MLS2 will be either BY or SY. I will bet on SY from a business point.

We group kids based on SY…it never made any sense to group them by BY because a whole set of kids were able to play with kids a grade below them while another group had to play with kids a grade above….
And the trapped player issue…

Kids can still be recruited for the national teams based on BY…the real Q1 BY kids will standout regardless….same with the Q4 BY kids

No news for a few days. But tea leaves saying it's SY.

MLS2 will play HS soccer, so it needs to stay in SY to reduce the trap. If MLS is BY, then it is a mess. I can't figure out a good reason for MLS to have two separate systems.

Are NAL and EA currently SY?

At least 5 different organizations will run MLS2 operations across the country

“We” meaning our society…
When you enroll your child in school, are they enrolled based on BY? Or by SY?

Whatever cutoff of SY or BY is used, MLSN and MLSN2 will have the same cutoff of 1/1 or 9/1. At our club our 2nd teams just switched to MLSN2 from ECNL and the big selling points were ease of transition of players between teams and the MLSN2 teams playing in the same showcases as MLSN. There is simply no scenario if which MLSN2 teams will be forced to play up an age division in showcases and have no Jan to Aug birthdays while MLSN P2P and Academies will.

Yep….but BY just never really made any sense…looks like SY is here to stay

How can something that's not here be here to stay?
